To think it should be easier than this to get my oven repaired.

I had my kitchen done up 3.5 years ago and one of the things we got was a very expensive smeg range cooker. One of the ovens is not working anymore.

I called the local repair shop who came out and said it is the selector switch but they can't repair it as not gas safe (feel like they should have told me they couldn't repair dual fuel before they came out) and charged call out for it.
I called another local company that specialises in ranges but they said they don't repair smeg and to contact smeg directly.
So I contacted smeg, it is not under warranty which I already knew, fully expecting to pay for repair. They then sent a different link to book an engineer, firm asks for model number and when you put it in it shows an error saying this model is not eligible for repair.
So I go back to google to look for local repair places that do duel fuel ranges and they all look well dodgy. Can't find anyone to repair it.
So I have a £3000 range with one working oven.

I don't need it for everyday or anything but it's nice to have for things like Christmas dinner and a also I bought a range cooker so I would have the convenience of 2 ovens.
Anyone got any idea what I can do?

No advice other than I have this too. Have a Stanley gas top cooker, double ring not working, can't get anyone to repair it!

You still have consumer rights with the shop who originally supplied it, the warranty period doesn't matter. I would go down that path, an expensive cooker is expected to last longer than a few years.

It looks like curry's might do repairs.

The guy who used to be our plumber came to install a new gas hob in my kitchen some years ago. He told me never to buy a dual fuel cooker, because it's really hard to get them fixed.

He said that to be insured to fix them requires both Gas Safe registration and the professional electrician qualification, and that very few people have both. Yet he could fit or fix a built-in gas oven that has an electric grill and be covered under his existing insurance. Weird, huh?

(I didn't bin off our plumber, btw, he retired!)
