To think visors don't count as face coverings?

We signed up for a puppy training class indoors. The instructor is actively encouraging people to not wear masks and wear visors instead. Surely this contravenes the guidances as we know visors do bugger all and don't attach firmly around the side of the face?

I can understand why a puppy training class would want faces to be visible.
Charlie Stayt on BBC Breakfast was saying today how surprised he was to find out that all dogs see of a human face is a blur. (Presumably they only recognise you by sound and smell). Seems to make mask wearing in puppy classes perfectly okay.

Visor and mask = Smile
Solo visor = Sad

I don't think the visor used by itself actually offers any protection...

Masks are OK with dogs. Think about it; what dog training ever focuses on the owner's face? It's voice, gesture for later training.

Then there's this:

You can get masks now which are transparent, we have some for our translators. But I agree with all those PP who say visor isn’t sufficient, and I would be questioning their request.

I go to a beginners training class with my Cavapoo (we have failed Bronze twice as he just won't sit and stay for 60 secs)

We have to mask up and are using voice and hand signals, sometimes together, sometimes just the hand signal.

Our instructor says masks are going to be around for a while so dogs are going to get used to them and taking instructions from us wearing them.

We have to wear masks, stay 2 metres away, hand sanitise on arrival, and not touch anyone elses dog.
