To be annoyed at this birthday situation

My dd was supposed to be going to an indoor trampoline place with her best friend on Sunday. They've discussed it at school today and the other girl has said we can just say we're sisters!
I've said no. Not spoken to the mum yet but am waiting for a text about it. Dd is now crying saying it's so unfair as they are together in a classroom all day. To be fair I can see her point but then that's not illegal. Would you let your child go and lie?

Found a link from the gov on this Guidance for the public on the phased return of outdoor sport and recreation in England

It does not have the exact situation in there but it seems to allow you to do sport with up to 5 other people.

Our local soft play let’s in 15 people at once as it’s quite small, I book to go with my 2 Kids at the same time as my other friends. Surely it’s safer being there with people I know that 12 strangers?

awesomeaircraft · 13/10/2020 20:32

Apologies, I missed you were in tier 2.

Smileyaxolotl1 · 13/10/2020 20:35

Yanbu. Indoor activities involving children are still allowed in tier 2 so it’s no different to that at all.

Wakemeupwhenthisisover · 13/10/2020 20:40

🙄

Nottherealslimshady · 13/10/2020 20:47

If it's open I'd let them go, they're in school together.

positivelynegative · 13/10/2020 20:49

I can see this tier system works a treat Hmm

Shizzlestix · 13/10/2020 20:55

That’s ridiculous, if the place is still open. I’d let her go. This nonsense about not mixing households is ridiculous. I’m teaching 30 kids every hour on the hour, they then charge round the corridors in mixed year groups because nobody has thought to build in transition time between lessons.

Hi Op I get your Concerns an bit of Confusion on your Daughter going with her friend Trampoline session
what difference would it make in your daughter not turning up for Trampoline session with her friendfriend when ,they see each other every day at school,so she is sort of like in your daughter social bubble group, you and your daughter could turn up with her friend, atat same time,at Trampoline centre, an see what how things pan out, either your daughter goes on Trampoline same time as friend or goes on Trampoline different time either way they will have a good time bit of much needed fun at this surreal times we are living at.

Willyoujustbequiet · 13/10/2020 21:33

If you're tier 2 its not allowed.

Anyone advocating lying etc.. this is why we are in this mess as selfish people don't think the rules apply to them.

MiddleClassProblem · 13/10/2020 23:54

I probably wouldn’t do it but I’m always anxious about any kind of rule breaking. I get so anxious that if you were at a pre Covid reception desk and there was a bowl of complimentary sweets, I have to ask if it’s ok to take one. I’m the kind of chicken that could feed an MN family for a month.

But it’s hard because they are together, majority of the week.

I’d probably try and suggest some alternatives whether it be something outdoors or something online. Maybe an escape room or something (depending on what they like).
