About periods post miscarriage?

I had a missed miscarriage in June. We were devastated. Dreadful to go through let alone in lockdown but that is not why I post and I am feel for all those women who have suffered miscarriage. However since then I'm on period 3 and its bloody debilitating. I'm passing clots, bleeding through pads in a couple of hours and the cramps! I've never ever had periods like this in my life. It lasts 14 days. Then I get 2 weeks off and it all starts again. This will sound weird but I feel like I need to push but cannot due to a blockage. I know this sounds really odd but it feels like a pressure build up in my belly. (I have 2 x ds so have been through labour) please tell me this is not normal. I've put off going to see Dr as 1. Covid and 2. I thought it might be my body healing but this is horrorrendous. Is this normal or do I need an ultrasound?

I don't think anyone here can answer whether or not you need an ultrasound but I'd definitely see a Dr in those circumstances. It may just be your getting back into it, it may not but a medical professional will have a better idea and it's much better to be safe than sorry when it comes to these things. Please do see them, don't leave it if you're concerned.

How far along were you if you don't mind my asking? I had a loss that happened naturally a bit later on and my next few periods were heavier and more painful if I remember correctly. But this sounds a bit much to me.

Sorry for your loss x

Your body getting back into it*

I'm so sorry for your loss OP, it's a hard thing to go through at the best of times but during lockdown even harder. I do hope you have support and are being gentle with yourself. x

I'm not medically trained but it wouldn't hurt to make an appointment with your Dr and so they can investigate for you or put your mind at ease.

I had 3rd trimester loss 25 yrs ago and from memory my cycles were rather chaotic afterwards. I don't remember how many chaotic cycles I had but it did right itself in time.

You need to check in with your doctor. I had similar with my first mc and it was a dreadful experience. It went on and on for weeks.
With my second I refused to go through that again and had a d+c under general. There were complications with both mc for me but You need to be sure there's no underlying issue.
Best wishes as I know how tough it is.

I think you need a scan. I had something similar (also during Covid) and ended up pushing out what I assume was the foetus. Having never given birth, the pain was terrifying.

I think you need to see a doctor and get a scan to check you haven't retained anything as it can cause continuing bleeding, although I'm not sure it would be like a period. Have you had a scan since your miscarriage? I don't want to alarm you but if you feel unwell at all (feverish etc), I'd get in touch with them straight away in case you have an infection. Sorry for your loss Flowers.
