To use up all my Annual Leave this year?

I'm not sure of I should carry some over or just take it all now? I will be getting busier with work so I probably should carry it over, but on the other hand I feel like I just want a break do some sorting around the house etc.

Will I regret it come next year though? What have you all done with your Annual Leave?

I can carry 8 days over (which I will) and I still have 3 weeks that I have to book this year!

Use it up. As my employer has asked us to, and no exceptions to the normal limited carry over is being made.

(we were told this in June)

We're usually not allowed to carry over, but were told this year due to staff being furloughed if we asked for time off and it was refused then we could carry "some" over at HR discretion. It's usually use it or lose it though.

We’re not allowed to carry leave into next April but were also not able to take leave in lockdown or in October. Just in case.
I have November off (hopefully) Grin
I’m mentally exhausted. I feel (And look) like I might have aged a million years since my last leave in January.

We aren't allowing staff to carry over more than the usual five days because we have a very busy year next year, and we can't afford for everyone to have stacked up leave.

A few grumbles from those for whom a holiday isn't a holiday unless it's abroad, but those same staff had a noticeably better attitude and better productivity when they came back from a break.

Derelictwreck · 12/10/2020 21:54

@NoSquirrels because we're so busy. If I took a day off every week I'd just have to work evenings to keep up!

Plus what would I do with my time? I'm in a high lockdown area.

Am hoping if we can travel at all next week to take one, maybe two 3-week stints for fab holidays Grin

NHS here. We arent allowed to carry leave over to next year. We were actively encouraged to take some over the summer to prevent burn out and recuperate before the would term pressures kick in.

I thought I'd resent it, not being able to go anywhere but it was nice just to not go in. Whatever your work is I'm sure you need a break this year it's been difficult for all people many different ways.

I have 22 days to take before end of march, but I started the year with 39 days as I had some carried over from before my mat leave started unexpectedly early. I've got a week booked in November and a two days at Christmas so that leaves me with 15, I was going to book the week after half term but now it looks like it might be circuit break lockdown or whatever they're calling it, so I'm hesitant and might just make my November leave two weeks
