Project manager in FMCG around 40k

TurkeyTrot · 11/10/2020 16:48
@BrieAndChilli yes I know

I'm interested in a lot of areas but if I have to get specific...
Anything in Quality, operations, production but I am also interested in supply chain
What qualifications do you have?

Operations will need different skills to production, for example.

I am senior management R&D (mostly R), science background, PhD + >20 years experience. Just under £100k. Entry level science positions (i.e. straight out of PhD) would be about £32k.
@PopcornAndWine what qualifications did you do for that position? Thank you
Well I took a bit of a roundabout route into it. My degree is in Social Science and my Masters in Disability Studies so not directly relevant but lots of useful transferable skills. As for my career path, I always worked in the voluntary sector previously, first in information and advice roles then later in an advocacy/policy role. That role Involved working with a number of pharmaceutical companies as they funded a lot of our projects so I got interested in the sector and started looking for roles there as, to be frank, I was fed up of the crap pay and conditions in the charity sector.

Have a look on glassdoor, indeed and TotalJobs for some ballpark figures, and the type of qualifications you're going to need for various roles.
