My son has an a-typical shape - he is a proper combination of me and my husband. I’m West Indian and have a large bottom and big thighs (shape, not weight - I’m fat too but this is separate).

My husband is tall and broad with long legs.

I cannot find any school trousers to fit him well so I’m wondering if any of you might have a son with a similar shape?

He’s 7 but very tall - Y3 but as tall as the Y5 boys.

Sold thighs and sticky out bum

Slim waist

Plus are no good as they just have a big waist 😭

Sainsburys do plus size school trousers with the elastic wasitband. I only realised when i picked them up by accident from the rack

My friends boy is the same shape. Thin at the waist lots of bum, big thighs and calfs. He is five and is the size of a nine year old. Asda pants with the adjustable waist work well for him, they buy the largest size, pull in with elastic and bonder web the hem.

M&S standard fit are a decent fit for my tall, thin teenage swimmer who has swimmers thighs, try those?

These look like clown trousers on him as his waist is slim so even pulling it in to maximum it’s too bulky.

My DS needs plus from M&S or Next with the waist adjusted smaller yet Tesco fit perfectly. The plus sizes look bulky when the waist is smaller - such a nightmare isn’t it.

It really is.

He’s been enormous since day 1 and always worn stuff for older but his shape has god a lot more solid over the last year.

M&S are really big on bum/thighs. My oldest has a slim waist but very muscular thighs (loads of sports)

Hewitts of Croydon do trousers by waist and inside leg measurement. Order online. I get my sons from there.

That's what my teens are like too, the M&S trousers are too big on the bottom but the thighs are OK. We have to adjust the waistband down to the smallest though.
ekidmxcl · 09/10/2020 20:58

M&S in a larger size, to accomodate bum and thighs. You'll be able to draw in the waist using the internal elastic. If the larger size is too long, take them up, but I believe M&S trousers come in different lengths, at least for some age bands.

Another vote for M&S regular plus fit. We need to pull the waist adjusters right in but they fit on the bum and thighs.
