IN my 20s I was married to a fucker who couldn't be bothered remembering my important days , though I never forgot his! By 29 I had divorced him and was with someone who actually cares about me so therefore remembers, been with them almost 20 years now and birthdays/christmas/valentines/anniversary still feel special. I now advise people if they make you feel shit then they are shit and should be dumped!

If I was you, I’d take myself off and have a nice long bath. I assume the kids are in bed? If your not-so DH asks, or perhaps tell him anyway, just say ‘I think I’ll have a relaxing bath on my birthday’ and off you go. Might give him something to think about!

My family forget mine - parents and brothers that is. My Dh and kids make the biggest fuss because they know how much it hurts to be forgotten.

He'd be gutted he'd forgotten i reckon. Not playing any games just didnt feel like i should have to bring it up. Together nearly 17 years so its not a make or break situation for me really and definitely not something id break up my family for just a shit show of a day thats all. Was feeling a little sorry for myself but feeling a whole lot better after the well wishes from you all so a huge thankyou to you all x
