To say no to trampoline park party?

Dd has been invited to her friend’s party at a trampoline park that’s a half hour drive away (so logistically I would have to stay for the two hours. I’m not overly paranoid about Covid but at the same time we have avoided places like that just because it’s a bit of an unnecessary risk. I feel like I want to say no but am I being a killjoy for doing so? Hate the way everything is a dilemma now, I wouldn’t have thought twice about it last year!

I think trampoline parks, soft play etc are probably cleaner than ever (especially if ball pits have been removed)

However I have safety concerns over trampoline parks and find excuses to avoid them.i don't my DDs have realised yet (7&9).

You wouldn't have to stay at the party tho. Sometimes these places are in retail areas so you could have a wander round outside if it's nice.
Or if you don't want to mix, take a book and or headphones grab a seat away from the others
Kids aren't having much fun atm, I'd let her go. I assume it's 5 other school mates who she has spent the last 5 wks with

So many broken limbs at trampoline parks

JaJaDingDong · 08/10/2020 18:36

^^ that

I’d be saying no but we aren’t mixing indoors at venues with others and are SD when with others.

@Rainbowb

What are your safety concerns?
So, so many accidents happen at trampoline parks. Kids get over excited and try to back flip or whatever when they just don't have the capability of that. Or fall at a bad angle, bounce at an angle and hit another child .. etc.

When I worked at one we had to get an ambulance out at least weekly, and there was always someone in the first aid room.

I know someone who broke his neck at a trampoline park in his late teens, as a result he is paralyzed and in a wheelchair.... Covid aside those places are not safe!
