To ask who can make this (origami)?

This is not my first attempt at origami, but I seem to find it inexplicably difficult.

I’m at stage four. I can’t figure out what it’s asking me to do or if I’ve gone horrible wrong. Am I destined to never get origami.

I’ve attached the instructions and what mine looks like so far. What in the world am I getting so wrong?

If you can do it - post your finished hearts!

Make a crease line where the dotted lines are in stage 4. Then you fold each side upwards along that line. Does that help at all?

JassyRadlett · 07/10/2020 17:54

Ok, so at step 4 imagine a point that bisects the bottom edge (actually where the vertical fold is). Fold up so that each half of the bottom edge meets in the vertical centre.

A bit rough and ready but here you go!

Yes. Hopefully included is a picture of half the step you need to do to get from your picture to the next step shown.
Good luck- they aren't the best instructions, imo.

Lovely :)

Thank you for all your help. I don’t understand how some people just get this stuff and I really don’t. Is it a poor spatial awareness?

Excellent. I like origami but the instructions can be a nightmare

InTheLongGrass · 07/10/2020 18:23

I'd say its practice. Once you've done a number of origami projects, it makes it easier to see how the next step has been obtained, even when the instructions are pants.

You choice of paper is much better than mine!!

TheExecutionOfAllThings · 07/10/2020 18:30

I discovered one of those paper books hiding at the back of the shelf that I never round to using. I wanted to feel like it wasn’t a pointless buy.

I’ve also made my toddlers day when I gave it to him: ‘mummy, I love it! It’s so beautiful’, so a double win! Smile

Do you know of any other good sites with really simple instructions? I actually found it really therapeutic.
