@PossiblyPattio I have been there - pleased to report that I did not get scurvy as a student Grin my previous post made it sound like my noodle habit was confined to student days but let me assure you the love affair has continued and I still scoff at least a couple of Special Chicken packets a week. DH is bemused by the Indomie love.

guessmyusername · 07/10/2020 10:57

I'm addicted to a certain brand of chicken noodle soup. My local supermarket used to stock it but now the only place I can get it is Amazon in boxes of 12. I order 2 boxes at a time

imfatletsparty · 07/10/2020 11:02

Can't beat the Nissin ramen noodles imo

I love noodles. Which flavour would you recommend?

I am so tempted to buy a box now. I eat the really cheap ones from Tesco's but occasionally do a 'posh' upgrade to Supernoodles as a special treat. I also ate many a supernoodle in my student days.

I fancy some now and an egg in them is genius. Would anyone notice if I left early I wonder...

Zippea · 07/10/2020 13:32

I live near a large Chinese supermarket - whenever I go there I come home with tonnes of noodles and ramen

You’d hate ramen

PattyPan · 07/10/2020 13:48

Hahaha I am the same, I am addicted to the 14p chicken ones from Tesco (surprisingly vegan!) 🤣 DP came home to me yesterday hunched over a bowl of them instead of making a proper dinner for both of us Blush

Numeraluno20 · 07/10/2020 13:50

I love those noodles but my absolute favourite are tom yam flavour by koka brand. They're spicy so be warned. Tho im so used to these now i even add red and green birds eye chilli to these.

Livingthecovidaloca · 07/10/2020 13:50

I used to bloody love Indomie when I lived in West Africa!
Now craving some!

dudsville · 09/10/2020 19:57

Possiblypatio, thank you for making my life complete! I bought in bulk off Amazon the mie gorang flavour, these seasoning packets are really a step up in the world of instant noodle.

Dillo10 · 09/10/2020 20:16

I'm SO addicted to Nong Shim spicy kimchi noodle pots

I have to limit how many I buy when I go to the Korean supermarket so that I ration them until I go again (it's nowhere near my house)

Enjoyyyy

HavelockVetinari · 09/10/2020 20:17

They are epic, but a lot of calories for seemingly very little substance Sad

JovialNickname · 10/10/2020 02:55

Stealth noodle brag there OP

Super noodles all the way for me!

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 10/10/2020 03:00

We're all super noodle addicts here Blush
The dc will also eat the Maggi ones but I'm not a fan. Are some of these other brands as good as SN?

chatwoo · 10/10/2020 03:50

The Indomie ones are readily available where I live (Aus) in the regular supermarkets. During the midst of lock down panic buying, it was impossible to get the Hot & Spicy variety! Thankfully they are back now and can blow my head off with their blend of space dust and MSG + god knows what else in those little packets.

They are my standby for not being arsed to cook. Specially with a fried egg on top, and some greens if I'm feeling particularly keen.

chatwoo · 10/10/2020 03:51

oh and they are also terrifying high calorie - if you're looking for that sort of thing!! I think they are coated in some sort of oil/grease to keep them 'fresh' Sad

IHaveBrilloHair · 10/10/2020 04:13

Mie goreng literally translates to fried noodles!
They also have pot noodles there called pop mie, I once puked on a ferry because people were drinking the sauce/liquid in the bottom.
Oh this is bringing back memories...Grin

tenredthings · 10/10/2020 04:16

It's the Monosodium glutamate (MSG) in them that makes them so yummy. It's addictive.

Omg at the beginning of lockdown I discovered bang bang chicken noodles I think made by ko-lee at our local sainsburys. I initially bought them because they were 90p and Dh had asked for noodles (big spender I am) but I became so addicted I bought boxes of the stuff. They have flavoured oil as well as seasoning and are taste sensation.

violetbunny · 10/10/2020 05:33

Indomie are hands down the best noodles on the planet. Fact.

Oysterbabe · 10/10/2020 05:41

Are you pregnant? They were the only thing I wanted to eat while pregnant.

HiyaCaath · 18/12/2022 16:14

Any update op?

OooScotland · 18/12/2022 16:17

I got a 24 pack of those once. They were so delicious I ate them all in just over a week and swore off them for good.

I bought one packet recently for that heavenly experience just one more time… and couldn’t face them when I sat down to eat them. Which was for the best, I suppose!

Thelnebriati · 18/12/2022 16:23

@whippetwoman The best budget noodles are Ko Lee, in the square packet. Chicken or tomato flavour (its not tomato, its mild & spicy)
