To think we should rethink swear words

All the swear words that require a * in polite company are usually slang for parts of the body that are really useful or for activities that give pleasure. Should we replace them with words that really show the distain we hold for the other person? I’ve decided my swear word of choice from now on will be ‘fly tipper’

bollocks

I enjoy swearing, I think it should be more mainstream and we get rid of new buzz words instead.

ZaZathecat · 05/10/2020 12:47

I think all the swear words have already become so mainstream that there's nothing left to shock with. I think we need to invent a new swear word that will still be kept for best, unless there is already a worse word than the c one, that I haven't heard yet because I'm too sheltered.

See, bollocks are really useful!

I like the way Scots use cunt, somecunt is a particular favourite.

I love swearing. Scots swear with a fluency and passion that's unrivalled by most, but Aussies run a good second and I once knew a man from the American Deep South who made it performance art (he was a left wing, pro choice, pro gun control individual who was quite fond of the idea of a health system so you can well imagine why his daily life might have provoked him into swearing).
