Over the banister. Even though we have a heated towel rack, I don't know why we don't use it.

TheFormerPorpentinaScamander · 04/10/2020 00:52

On the bathroom radiator to dry and then on the towel rack on the bathroom door.

Zoflorabore · 04/10/2020 00:56

In the washing machine.

HappydaysArehere · 04/10/2020 01:03

Outside the bathroom there is a long bannister, put them on there and they dry more quickly than anywhere else. As there is plenty of room I can spread towels out and this helps the drying process.

canihaveacoffeeplease · 04/10/2020 01:06

I don't know why but I am so surprised at over the bannister, what an odd place to store towels. We are currently in a rented house and it infuriates me that neither of the quite large bathrooms have a towel rail if any kind, plenty of room for one. I've got one of those over door hangers for each bathroom and towels go on them after use. Usually dry fairly quickly. If we had a radiator in the bathrooms I'd get a radiator airer I think.

@Zoflorabore

In the washing machine.
🤨 After one use?! No you don't!!
thesoundofthepolice · 04/10/2020 01:24

I have a separate small wash basket for them and only use hand towels for hair and body.

I wash them every second day alongside my daily flannels so 4 hand towels and 4 flannels make up a load. They get folded and put in the basket until Wash day and they get hot washed, dried then put away.

DH on the other hand has bath sheets that go over hooks on the back of the door and is washed twice a week.

IHaveBrilloHair · 04/10/2020 01:26

On the towel rail which is above the radiator.

1forAll74 · 04/10/2020 01:42

Just dry on the bathroom radiator, there is only me here, so not much of a problem at all.

I was laughing at myself earlier, as two months ago, I bought this lovely cream, and larger than average cosy bath mat, but haven't used it yet, as don't want to spoil it getting damp or wet,so keep putting one of my fluffy towels down instead.

Hand towels - on the towel rail which is above the radiator on the bathroom.

Bath towels - washed after one use so washing basket. DH will sometimes re use bath towels if I haven’t gotten round to washing it. He tends to leave his towels over the side of the bath to dry or hang them over the edge of a door.

For all the ‘that’s so wasteful’ type comments- My skin breaks out easily and I suffered with back acne for almost 10 years. It was horrible and I tried every lotion, potion, diet change, supplement etc you could think of. Not reusing bath towels (as advised by the dermatologist) has helped massively. (It took 6 months of antibiotics to clear the acne and I’m in no hurry to repeat that). I also use a fresh towel (well a dry flannel) to dry my face each wash. Again my skin breaks out if I reuse towels on my face.

I also can’t wear t shirts, vest tops etc more than once for the same reason. Jeans and bottoms are fine. Jumpers (if I have a layer underneath) are fine. Just anything that touches my back and chest area is fresh every day. Be it towels, pjs, clothing.

housemdwaswrong · 04/10/2020 01:57

If I'm at home and not working I open my bedroom window (back of house) and hang it half in half out.

If I'm working/out, over the radiator.

Yes I do. Why is that such a problem for you?

I have (diagnosed) OCD and this is one thing I’m funny over. I change the hand towel daily and tea towels/dish cloths daily.

The only time I would hang up a towel to dry would be if i had used a smaller one just on my hair. I have an airing cupboard in my bathroom where my towels live and there’s a hook on the inside door that i use for damp towels.

iheardabell · 04/10/2020 12:13

Over the bannister to let it dry/air out.
Then folded back on the towel rail in the bathroom - which is heated, but only when the central heating is on.
