I was quite excited when I saw they’d launched a plus size collection, but when you compare it to the elegant and pretty regular collection this is so far off the mark, is it me?

@Ginfordinner

Single blocks of one colour and very modest shapes are adding to the frump factor.

I don't think single blocks of one colour are frumpy. Who decides this? On other style and beauty threads wearing patterns is considered frumpy.

Single blocks of colour aren't necessarily frumpy, but the combination of blocky shapes and overly modest tailoring together isn't that great e.g. high necklines. If some of the tips were put with jeans i think it'd look less severe

@ageingdisgracefully

Some nice things there. That red dress is stunning imho.
The v neck? I thought the same. Interestingly it's the only thing with a bit of personality, flattering neckline and good shape
Horsemad · 03/10/2020 13:26

OMG, I'm no style icon but what a load of crap those 'outfits' are!!

Too many unflattering (round necked) necklines, making the model look way too busty.

Absolute rubbish, KM.

Angelina82 · 03/10/2020 13:29

Don’t know about frumpy but the clothes are very very very boring and massively overpriced.

Toilenstripes · 03/10/2020 13:29

Few of those outfits actually flatter a large breasted woman. I despair.

Fuzzywuzzyface · 03/10/2020 13:32

Or your average 18/20 that has a mum tum and chunky upper arms...yes I am looking at myself in the mirror!!!

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 03/10/2020 13:34

I think some items are nice. Single blocks of colour can look very nice And classy

None of the clothes have a particular KM look. I think their clothes are hit and miss and too often they add gold chains/bars on clothes

If the quality is decent then I don’t think it’s overpriced- I think we are all too used to spending £10 on a top that is inevitably see through or will have a few loose threads.
As for frumpy colours- I think too much pattern is frumpier

DressingGownofDoom · 03/10/2020 13:43

The clothes look as though they'd be deeply unflattering on anyone with a big tum, all very tight and high waisted. It does actually look like Boohoo for grown ups! I'll stick to my Popsy dresses.

QueenOllie · 03/10/2020 13:53

I like the ribbed slash neck top, can see that being a good staple

billybagpuss · 03/10/2020 13:54

I think for me, I’m short and dumpy so there’s not much here that will flatter, it’s very easy to make me look like a frump

Awful! That wool jacket is soo badly fitted. Box ticking exercise.

Laaalaaaa · 03/10/2020 13:57

Oasis, Warehouse, Coast and Karen Millen all now under the Boohoo group.

paintmywholehousepink · 03/10/2020 14:05

God it's boring!

ChronicallyCurious · 03/10/2020 14:05

KM is frumpy in general.

ageingdisgracefully · 03/10/2020 14:13

I agree high necks are not flattering to women who are larger of nork - if you avoid those and go instead for v necks/ more flattering items, team with trendier bottoms etc and accessories you've got a decent basic wardrobe there. As long as the quality is ok? I don't see frumpiness - only classic shapes and colours. What's not to like?

Rinoachicken · 03/10/2020 14:30

YANBU - even the model looks unimpressed

Mummadeeze · 03/10/2020 14:35

I am size 14/16 and those clothes would be so unflattering on me. I definitely wouldn’t consider buying any of them.

BitOfFun · 03/10/2020 14:45

If I open these threads about so-called 'frumpy' fashions, I generally prepare to roll my eyes...but my word, you are not wrong! How terribly BORING it all is!

Viviennemary · 03/10/2020 14:47

I thought nearly all of it was pretty dire. And if they can't even make it look good on a model why would anyone buy it.,

AllTheUsernamesAreAlreadyTaken · 03/10/2020 15:06

I really like it. I'm early thirties and not "frumpy".
I think you could make a fantastic capsule wardrobe from this and then buy some brighter pieces to accessorise them.

AfterSchoolWorry · 03/10/2020 15:08

Ugh very basic and boring.

Pluckedpencil · 03/10/2020 15:20

Well it all looks a bugger on the model, which isn't a great start.
Most plus size wearers want something flattering first and fashion second. There is no point being on trend if you look rubbish. High round necks on big boobs will never be fashionable for example. Same with done up collars. Not great.
