Breaking news from the US is stating that Donald has been transferred to Walter Reed Medical Center....To people who probably don't know Walter Reed is a major VA hospital in Washington DC. I was transferred there from Germany. The VA is for Vets and has been broken for many, many years. For the past month on his reelection adverts Donald has been saying he has fixed the VA . He hasn't. He is a lying sack of shit. Maybe now he will figure out exactly how broken that system is and pull that fucking advert and save the remainder of my televisions

But he will still definitely see the issues from lack of staff, lack of money and lack of equipment

No, he won't. He will be in the separate private presidential suite being cared for by a dedicated (to his care) medical team round the clock. He won't eat the same meals as our wonderful vets, his will be custom and served on china. He won't sleep in the same beds as our wonderful vets, his will be state of the art with deluxe bedding. He won't use the same doors as our vets, he will go in via a private entrance.

In short, he will not get the 'VA experience' that you and our vets receive. For him, it will be akin to staying at the Ritz.

It's disgusting.

Trump was fully dressed and walked out to the helicopter so he is not that ill or he'd have been carried on a stretcher, receiving oxygen. He'll have a couple of days in a private room where he can recuperate and then be home again. It's strange in a way because he could have had all that and more in the White House.

lyralalala · 03/10/2020 01:55

The people who work there. I know his care will be better than the Vets. Never said otherwise. But he will still definitely see the issues from lack of staff, lack of money and lack of equipment. My colleagues who work at WR would never do anything wrong just to prove a point. They are dedicated to the work. Long hours and extremely bad pay compared to Civilian perssonel. They truly do it for the love of the work. But they aren't miracle workers. They can't take another person off a vent to give to him. They will not choose to let one of their own down to serve him. Especially hours after he blamed Vets and Military members for giving him Covid. He is just going to get an eye opening look from the patient's side. If he is reelected and thats a big if (due to the Military blunders) right now maybe he will actually help these people. Help all of us.

He won't see any of that.

The Presidential Suite will have it's own state-of-the-art equipment that won't be used for anyone else. There will be a vent there at all times (and if there wasn't one would be taken from someone else for the President).

He's in a Suite of rooms away from other patients, and most likely other staff as well. He'll not see or smell a hint of any problems whatsoever because he'll have every comfort he needs, every medicine he needs, every machine he could need and he'll have his own medical team.

occa · 03/10/2020 01:55

Eh? Of course he won't, OP.

If you think the President is going to get anything approaching the same treatment as your bog-standard veteran, you're in la-la-land!!

He's not exactly on a ward with all the other vets Hmm. He's in the Presidential Office Suite at the hospital.

He was able to walk to the helicopter, but he is for sure worse off then he seems. No way would he go to the hospital for a few days if he was not. To him that looks weak and no way he ever wants to look weak. He also did not tweet all day which is VERY unusual for him. I dont know how sick he is, but he's not "fine" or he would not be at the hospital
blueberrypie0112 · 03/10/2020 02:37

My dad got all his care from the VA hospital. I know it is not the best but in his case it’s not the worst. He died in a VA hospital for multiple cancer

blueberrypie0112 · 03/10/2020 02:38

That was way before trump though. He was in the national guard

blueberrypie0112 · 03/10/2020 02:41

But trump did made it more difficult for international doctors and other staffs to apply there or keep their jobs. My dad had couple heart attacks at a young age and they took care of him.

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/10/2020 02:46

The plebs won't get anywhere near him.

He's a narc and will assume this proves what a great job he did.

I don't wish ill on him but America would be better without him.

Backofthenet20 · 03/10/2020 02:48

He must be pretty ill to go. Although he walked he has only made one tweet since announcing he has Covid. He had a lot of risk factors, obesity, age, high blood pressure

notangelinajolie · 03/10/2020 02:57

Call me stupid (from the UK Grin) but I'm not understanding what Donald going to hospital has got to do with televisions and phones?

Instead of briefing, where his aides inform him of what’s going on with facts, people think he is getting his briefing from FOXnews Plus he used to be on tv and always rely on “ratings”
Terrace58 · 03/10/2020 03:07

Trump is not going to be in the wards. He will have a private suite, probably a private wing. The staff working there will be assigned only to him. The equipment will be assigned only to him. If for no other reason than everything and everyone who goes anywhere near the president is checked by the secret service. Add the privilege of being “the leader of the free world” and his care is guaranteed to be the best available.

blueberrypie0112 · 03/10/2020 03:19

No he will not see. He is there for security and he will receive treatments and excellent cared from people he trust.

Exactly.

In many ways the 'Presidential Suite' at the hospital has nothing to do with the rest of the hospital. It's there because it's a secure place campuse (it used to be one of the secure places the president could go in an attack) and a good place for a medical set up.

It's separate to all of the other wards. He'll have a bedroom, living room, dining room, office and staff bedrooms and offices. The White House Dr will be with him 24/7 plus any specialists that he needs.

He's not remotely in the Walter Reed hospital in the same way that any other patient is.

LadyLoungeALot · 03/10/2020 05:17

YABU to think he doesn't have his own private team of nurses and doctors, and that they won't fly in everything they need from elsewhere.

He'll be getting the very best private health care, nothing near like anybody else in that hospital would get.

Gimmeashake · 03/10/2020 06:22

@notangelinajolie because OP smashes the tvs and phones in a rage when Trump or Trump related news is on!!Grin

Reykjavikagain · 03/10/2020 08:10

You are being a bit naive i think if you believe Trump will get to see or hear how shit things are in this hospital. As PPs have said he has his own suite, security team, his own medics, all the equipment he is likely to need. No one who would be likely to even attempt to tell him just what his policies have done there, will be allowed within a mile of him. He will have cutting edge treatment and care like ‘you’ve never seen before.’

FedUpAtHomeTroels · 03/10/2020 08:32

All care will be aimed at him while he's there. I wouldn't want to be someone who's care is less as an inpatient due to everyone focusing on him.
