Do you need any equipment to start with and which website do you use to do it?

I've only played table top D&D once in real life, but unfortunately no one I know would be into playing and I'd quite like to give it another go.

Any info, advice etc would be greatly appreciated

Sorry had an unexpectedly busy day yesterday so didn't get a chance to come on here or look into the D&D websites Blush

DS has been playing D&D online for about two years now, in a couple of different groups. I think they mostly use Discord.

Can I sign up too? DD (11) and I would like to try D & D, but we’ve no one else to play with.

Ooh my DS would love this 😀

DH uses roll20, steam & tabletop simulator

Albacon is on this weekend (no idea if there are spaces left) which would be a great way to play a one shot if you don’t currently have a group.

I play weekly with a professional DM found through the Rolldark agency. We use Roll20 but I think he’s considering switching to Foundry. My sister has also used Rolldark DMs to run socially distanced birthday party quests fo4 her kids.

I also play occasionally with a hilarious DM who has just gone professional, and to be honest I prefer those games. Also in Roll20.

DD currently plays d&d online, she plays on dndbeyond, she says it has a dice roller, only 1of their group has purchased everything so he shares it amongst the group, when she joined her friends group was already established, she believes that you get the basics and then can purchase extra stuff.

She says Roll20 is OK too.
