Has anyone found love at the school gates?

Posting for traffic. Name changed as I’m embarrassed Blush
Has anyone found love on the school run / at the school gates?
My son has just started school, bumped into a man who used to be my next door neighbour many years ago. His son has just started in same class as mine. He’s now divorced. I’m single. Probably wishful thinking but just wondering?!

I haven't but I know a teacher that dated a parent, and they were never frowned up, they broke up after a few years and it wasn't an issue on either part or with the school, at the time or afterwards.

@Wishfulthinkk if this were me I'd think life's too flipping short to worry about what others think as neither of you are doing anything wrong (both single) I understand concerns about children but by the time you know if you're going to work and are ready to make the introductions they could be in different classes or anything, I'd go for it and be discreet to start with.

Keep chatting when you see him and see where it goes. You might be able to go for a coffee sometime? Good luck! Sorry for the loss of your DH.

@JunkCrumpet That sounds awful for your husband! "Improving parent/teacher relations" Shock. I'm genuinely shocked the mums pursue him like that.

Generally I've only ever found litter and the odd lost glove.

Grin

'Love At the School Gates' sounds like a Take A Break story. It should involve a divorcee finding herself via torrid glances across the playground to 'fit father' with a 'cheeky grin' and a 'nice bum', alongside a photograph of a deeply unfortunate-looking man missing several teeth standing in front of a railing holding a My Little Pony school bag.

Thanks all. I know saying “found love” is a bit cheesey Blush but I’m a romantic at heart. I’m mid 30’s and been single for over three years now, my partner was killed in a car accident when I was 8 months pregnant with our second child. I’ve been alone since and my smallest one is almost 3. Just kind of hoping there may be a happy ending eventually and wondered if anyone had met someone (not in an affair or unfaithful way, this way)

My male colleague did OP, very happily married. My childminder also did this and it was a bit of a disaster
