To think my DH should do more round the house?

I have been married for 20 years and have always done the majority of housework and worked a few hours when DC were small. When youngest went to school I started doing more hours part time over 4 days and DH said he would do more to help but if anything he does less now. He doesn’t do any chores apart from the shopping (mainly because he said I spent to much) and some cooking. He used to occasionally mow the lawn but usually pays the oldest to do it now. I feel like all I do is clean up after everyone and have no time to myself, I spend a lot of the weekend doing stuff, my DD asks me to sit with her but I don’t have time or feel guilty cause I have stuff to do. I also feel pressure to have sexual relations with him when I don’t really want to, especially when he doesn’t help me. He does work hard at his job but I feel like I wish he put as much energy into his family.

I think the problem here is that you work 4 X 4hr shifts, which when you factor in the school run and travel gives about an hour 'free' a day, which would include needing to eat. There is no way you could do more than put some washing on and have a quick run around in that time.

Is there any prospect of changing to either 3 X 6 hour days or even 2 X 8 hour days, as that would give you 2 or 3 clear days in which you can get chores done, and would probably even have time to relax.

I am a SAHM, and my husband is working full time, at the moment from home. I do all the house chores during the week, we do it together during the weekend and he is totally hands on dad.

Rule in my house how much free time we have and we both get the same.

I must admit when our second baby came I used to write for a month how much free time both of us have and it turned out pretty even.

Maybe something like that could help you.
