To work from home?

I work somewhere where most staff have physical jobs and have to be on site. I am one of the few who has an office job, but I can do mine anywhere in the world as long as I have an internet connection and a mobile phone.

I have my own office, but I have to share kitchen and toilet facilities with a large amount of people. For the last few months I have been going in with the odd day from home, but it feels stupid because I can do everything from home - no one is talking to me face to face due to covid safety measures, it is all via phone even if they are next door.

I feel I am driving 50 miles a day just to not speak to anyone and do everything I could do at home. But the bosses have a dim view on homeworking as not everyone can do it due to job roles.

AIBU to request I wfh most of the time? Or should I be going in every day so it's 'fair' for those who can't wfh? Would they be unreasonable to make me come to the office even if I don't have to?

YANBU. The directive is to work from home if you can, and it sounds like you can.

Is it mostly male?
