DS vomited in our bedroom doorway. Trailed it to our bed were he continued to vomit but caught it then in a bowl 🙄. DH is a mostly a kind sort if person but started yelling at us about the smell and the massive trailing across the bedroom vomit stain. Yes, we could see that and smell it, we were victims of vomit too AND DS was feeling sick. Gonna be a stain. DS is fine fyi
And tucked back in bed. 2 questiond Do you think contents insurance covers vomit stains?? Is it wver OK to send unsolicited vomit photos (i would be OK to receive them....)And why is DH such a massive prat. Apparently its DS fault and mine that the bed room smells like vomit (it is blurgh) but have cleaning powder down will go.hoover up.in 30... mainly just sounding off as it is midnight and it is too late to send it to a friend for moral support.

Wtf, your son was sick and is 12, it’s not like he was out getting pissed. I’d tell DH to fuck off being a prick. It’s carpet it’ll be fine

Bicarbonate everywhere!

I would have been tempted to punch the husband in the nose! 👃 what a tool.

Harsh words would be had.

VettiyaIruken · 28/09/2020 11:41

FFS. Does he think the child thought ooh, I know what'd be fun.... Then ran to your bedroom and stuck his fingers down his throat?

queenMab99 · 28/09/2020 11:48

My eldest son hardly ever vomited, so never really got the hang of dealing with it until he was in his late teens. He once spectacularly vomited from the top of bunkbeds, splattering his younger brother on the bottom bunk, and creating a tsunami across the bedroom floor. My late husband used to say, an important life skill, which should be taught in schools, before the legal drinking age, was the ability to be sick without getting it on your shoes!

CSIblonde · 28/09/2020 12:00

@goatinthegarden, yes it's good for cat 'gifts'. @bigarsebelinda I've used it on wool blend carpets & antique rugs, careful to never leave it on longer than a few mins. And blot dry with kitchen roll afterward.

Cleaning up the remainder of the stain (much much better) I mean not yelling at DS.

You need to tell him to get to the bathroom when he feels like vomiting rather than your room.
He's not a toddler.

Tell him go to the bathroom and call you from there.
Far less mess!

Yes I agree with pp, I thought you were taking about a 3 year old not a 12 year old.

Bicarbonate of soda is supposed to be good to neutralise smells etc...

canigohomenow · 28/09/2020 12:31

God, there's nothing worse than sick - and it flies everywhere!

My Mum loves to recall the story of my 1995 sick bug when they had first had a new bathroom. Apparently, it was like a projectile all across the new tiles.

According to my Dad the following Christmas eve, he dropped the toothpaste down the back of the sink and found an uncleaned splatter.

Gazelda · 28/09/2020 12:40

If it still smells or stains after cleaning, try hiring a rug doctor. Worked a treat on a similar episode.

pastagirl · 28/09/2020 23:20

Thanks. Looking a bit better now an ot bicarb down. Will go look out doctor Beckhams tomorrow, not too marked but cant cope with the slight almost smell if vomit in he bedroom. DH has just used up his allocated tool behaviour or the next 6 months. I reminded him mine is still in the bag 😏. It probably will end up a story it looks like a train map accross the bedroom line stop line stop
