I'm trying to understand this the oats which I thought would be less sugar are 15.8g of sugar per sachet and it's in the orange yet the honey nut says 8.4g of sugar and is in the red for sugar can anyone explain why this is as I don't have a clue and really trying to cut down on sugar

Have wholemeal toast instead?

There are two kinds of oats. 'Quick oats' and 'jumbo oats'.

Most brands will have one of each kind.

The ones I have linked have a scoop inside so it's really easy to make them in the same way as the sachet ones.

We do it in a Pyrex jug.

Another good way is to get the jumbo ones and put them in the jug with some milk and put them in the fridge overnight. The bigger oats will keep you full for longer.

You are better buying the plan in oats and adding your own sugar or honey or golden syrup as you can see what you are adding then,

We've got a pourer full of seeds on our table for porridge. They are from Aldi.

If you've a family and you are all having porridge then a brilliant way is in a rice cooker overnight. You get a timer plug and set it to come on in the morning. With jumbo oats. When we do it this way we don't need any additions at all. It's already sweet.
