I’m at my wits end with PayPal.

In July I bought a product from a company saying “Guaranteed 30 Day Refund” if not fully satisfied. I tried to contact the company who never replied to my emails and just “disappeared” from contact. So, I got in touch with PayPal Resolution Centre. They have completely gotten hold of the wrong end of the stick and now written to say that I have RECEIVED the goods. Well yes, but... I’d like a refund under the terms of the transaction. PayPal have “closed the claim”.

Am I unreasonable to think that PayPal need to have REAL people to speak to/correspond with in these matters. The original company was clearly a scam. Surely, PayPal want to know this?

When you go on the PayPal website, it’s sends you all around the houses and then you still cannot have a “conversation” about the problem. Even their Chat feature just says “you’ve received your goods and the matter is closed”. I’m at a loss.

Can anyone advise? I always thought PayPal was a reliable way to shop.

PayPal is awful and don't help when there is a problem. I stopped using them when I was scammed over 600 pounds for hotel and theatre tickets and they said they couldn't help. Luckily my credit card company was much better at dealing with it

Okay. I’ll try Nat West and on Monday morning, the PayPal phone number. Failing that, I’ll close my account.

Unfortunately at that price neither PayPal nor your credit card company (had you used them) would have any liability. You’d be looking at the small claims court, if it’s worth it. Are the company in the UK?

The company give and address in London but when I went on to Companies House, the address is Morocco.

I give up, I think. It’s not worth the stress.

OP don’t give up. This is how they get away with this shitty behaviour! £80 is a lot of money.

@ButtWormHole I agree but with everything we have going on, I’m not sure I’m up to it. This has been “active” since August.
