Had to share...enjoy 😂😂

At 1st I was afraid, I was petrified,
There was no loo roll down at Aldi and I nearly cried.

Oh I spent so many nights just thinking how you did me wrong,
I used to wipe,
And now I’m forced to just drip dry !

No anti-bac !
No bloody soap,
and if you think you’re buying pasta well you’ve got no bloody hope !
I would have bought that box of eggs, I would have rationed out my bread,
If I’d have known for just one second everyone would lose their head !

Go on now go, walk out the door !
All you bloody stockpilers,
You are not welcome any more !

Weren’t you the ones who just bought all the sodding beans ?
You selfish gits !
I hope you spill them down your jeans !

Oh no not I, I won’t panic buy!
Oh as long as I have alcohol, I know I’ll stay alive,
Though I can’t buy my usual cheese,
This will not bring me to my knees
And I’ll survive, I will survive, hey, hey !

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart,
There was just apples and 1 carrot in my shopping cart,
And I spent hours walking round just feeling sorry for myself,
The empty store, with boxes strewn across the floor

And you’ll see me, somebody who,
Cannot buy anything she came for, and it’s all down to fecking you
And frickin Reg from down the road is such a selfish blimmin git
Because he stockpiled all the loo roll so nobody else can have a s@*t !

Go on now go, walk out the door !
All you bloody stockpilers,
You are not welcome any more!

Weren’t you ones who just bought all the sodding cakes
Can’t you make a crumble,
Do you people not know how to bake ?

Oh no not I, I won’t panic buy !
Oh as long as I have alcohol, I know I’ll stay alive,
Though I can’t buy my usual cheese
This will not bring me to my knees
And I’ll survive, I will survive !!

I bought some loo roll in Aldi yesterday (because we needed it) and I left it on the packing shelf! Gutted. Hope they still have some in stock later today.

doctorhamster · 26/09/2020 07:56

I genuinely do not understand the panic buyers. Have they learned nothing from last time?!

SchadenfreudePersonified · 26/09/2020 07:56

This is SUPERB!!!!!

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

butterpuffed · 26/09/2020 08:00

There was a thread on here yesterday about loo rolls and some had upwards of 50 rolls ! Confused

Pelleas · 26/09/2020 08:00

Thought this was going to be a rant and was pleasantly surprised Grin

Exactly. Prepare early, when there is plenty on the shelves.
thewooster · 26/09/2020 08:06

This is brilliant OP!

Fatted · 26/09/2020 08:09

Its not panic buying. It's just the people who bought six months supply back in March have all run out again now so need to stock back up.

Itsabeautifuldayheyhey · 26/09/2020 08:10

👋 Very good.

Must say though that I went into a sainsbury's supermarket for a couple of things yesterday and the loo roll aisle was well-stocked except for Andrex Supreme Quilts. (They had one 16 pack of them left at £9.25. Asda have run out of those because they were on offer at £6.50).

SaltedCaramelIcedLatte · 26/09/2020 08:15

Brilliant, just the laugh that everyone needed 😂😂😂

ChaosTrulyReining · 26/09/2020 08:15

Yabu. The work is panic buyers, not stockpilers.

Stockpilers by definition don't panic buy.

Tomatoesneedtoripen · 26/09/2020 08:28

thanks, you have reminded me to buy beans!

ToastedEnglishMuffin · 26/09/2020 08:34

Brilliant 😂

Giggorata · 26/09/2020 08:36

Love it, brilliant! 😀

Doesn’t make sense. Once you have panic bought you have a stockpile.

Stockpilers are not exempt from criticism. They encourage the myth that the supply chain is at risk. The only risk to it is from this untruth.

The80sweregreat · 26/09/2020 08:48
Smile Brilliant!
WanderingMilly · 26/09/2020 08:49

What I can't understand is, when there looks like there'll be a shortage, why oh why is it toilet paper which is the first thing to be stockpiled? Can't work it out...

whirlwindwallaby · 26/09/2020 09:00

Doesn’t make sense. Once you have panic bought you have a stockpile.
Panic buyers and preppers can both be stockpilers. The difference is that preppers buy extra in times of plentiful supply, taking advantage of special offers, and build a balanced stockpile of foods they will actually eat. Panic buyers buy extra when stocks are running low, buy foods they don't normally eat or won't eat before the dates run out.

fiftiesmum · 26/09/2020 09:11

Can we have another verse - couldn't find cat food, hair dye, chocolate or deodorant in Tesco yesterday.

If you have your receipt, you can call the Aldi customer service hotline and they should be able to see that you left it. They will let you go back and get it.

I had to do it before when we had left toilet roll on the packing shelf Blush

Whatcan · 26/09/2020 09:23

Genius

But not all stockpilers, are panic buyers. Panic buyers cause problems. People that stay well stocked don't.

Ponoka7 · 26/09/2020 10:25

@Hollyhobbi, I voted YABU.

"But not all stockpilers, are panic buyers. Panic buyers cause problems. People that stay well stocked don't."

This ^

If the supply chain is fine, what's the issue with people stocking up now, while, infection rates are lower?

I live on a budget. Last time I had to pay more for, soup, sanitary wear, toilet rolls, eggs, tinned veg, cat food, my variety of tea that I like etc. If that happened over winter, I wouldn't be able to heat my home. I was on the shielding list, I don't eat what's in the government boxes or what's in most food banks. I have to get buses if I want to shop outside of farmfoods and Lidl. I'm limited on what I can carry.

The "I'm alright jack", could be easily applied to those with partners, cars, flexible budgets and family help.

Kaiserin · 26/09/2020 10:37

YANBU for the glorious song.

YABU for the alcohol bit. Not really fond of people normalising (or poking fun at) alcoholic behaviour.
I enjoy alcohol responsibly, but advertising it as a coping mechanism (even in a tongue in cheek way) feels rather heartless or irresponsible. Alcohol abuse does fuel domestic violence and child neglect, and it's no laughing matter to me.

(Yes, I'm a boring old fart. And my stock pile is full, I didn't sit on my ass all summer. So no panic buying from me...)
