To not have my rented house viewing ready every time?

My landlord is selling and I've had a few people round for viewings now. I've been pretty laid back about it as we've been out of the house most of the day anyway at work and school.

However, there doesn't yet seem to be any offers and I am getting multiple requests a week for viewings.

Basically I've had enough making sure the house is viewing ready all the time and whilst it's always relatively tidy, am just thinking to leave it as is now even when viewers are due round.

Definitely just live your life and leave as it is. Any buyer can see past anything like that.

You don't have to allow viewings so it's up to you whether you want to be helpful. Has your landlord giving you notice to leave anyway? If so, I would just refuse viewings, especially if they haven't offered an incentive such as reduced rent. They can wait until you move out to sell.

You don’t have to allow viewings but if you’re happy doing them and it’s just the frequency annoying you, you could arrange block viewings once a week where everyone who is interest comes that day instead of throughout the week.

I'd make the beds, and make sure there was no dirty underwear scattered about, but you absolutely dont need to make the house viewing ready if your landlord is selling. Indeed, you dont need to permit viewings.
If you are getting lots of requests, I'd tell the agency that they are all to be booked for next Saturday, and then go out for the day.

You're nicer than me, I wouldn't be allowing all these viewings anyway, and I certainly wouldn't be making my home viewing ready for the landlord's benefit.

I'm not sure I'd like people coming round whilst we're out, we've been renting for years and every place we've lived we've changed the locks and not given the landlords or agents a key until we've left the property. They've never asked for one either

I wouldn't go to any special effort for viewings and you don't have to allow them anyway, you've been more than reasonable but don't inconvenience yourself. If you did want to continue to allow viewings then you should either negotiate a discount on the rent or tell them that they can only show it on a Sundya between 3pm and 5pm (or whatever time/day in convenient to you) and then you're only prepping it once rather than multiple times.
