To fucking HATE cling film

I’m convinced that whoever invested this must have really hated their fellow human beings.

Horrible design, it bunches and scrunches up so easily, the sharp toothed edged easily cuts your fingers with ease yet seemingly can’t manage to cut the cling film neatly so you end up taking it from the box and try to do it manually and left with the most pathetic little strip of film that doesn’t even cover half a plate.

Sellotape can fuck off as well. I’m sure they’re related.Angry

Am I (and my brother) the only ones who think cling film stinks nowadays? Nobody else I mention it to knows what I'm talking about. Perhaps it's one of those things you need a particular gene to be able to smell. Does anyone else think cling film stinks?

RomanyBlood
Thank you thank you.

I have never in my life bought any cling-film, using plastic boxes instead, but those look actually useful for half-finished cold drinks or the like that don't really need a box,and I shall put them on the list for next time I am in IKEA.

ChetChet · 24/09/2020 20:03

It does as its told when kept in the freezer.

Karma for you because you were slagging it off on here. Grin

From the amount of times it’s hurt me, you’d think I’d had an affair with cling film’s husband, threatened to kidnap their first born and slapped CF’s mother round the face! And Shock just realised Cling Film = CF = Cheeky Fucker. Coincidence? I think not![/quote]
That’s a hell of lot of detail for supposed criminal behaviour there ... sounds more to me like you’re speaking from experience.

Your dirty, kidnapping and violent fool.

You need help! All she tried to do was keep your food fresh. spits on the floor (not the weird spit, the really cool way you see on the movies when that guy is wearing shades and is dealing drugs or something)

I haven't bought cling film in > 30 yrs. Kind of fascinated why people rely on it. So many decent alternatives.

mizu · 24/09/2020 20:21

Never bought it, never used it. Looks horrible stuff. Stop using it and it won't annoy you anymore Grin

Nquartz · 24/09/2020 20:25

Yes! Plus I think if you use it to wrap sandwiches they then smell/taste a bit cling filmy 🤢

DilysPrice · 24/09/2020 20:29

I don’t use it for food but it’s irreplaceable when I’m henna-ing my hair.

JayeAshe · 24/09/2020 20:33

Try Glad Press-n Seal if you get a chance to lay your hands on some from USA or Canada. It's like cling film on steroids, not quite see through, sticks to anything perfectly, behaves properly, can be used to 'frost' window glass for privacy etc etc ....

yolio · 24/09/2020 20:35

I suppose it's a change from Covid.

AlwaysLatte · 24/09/2020 20:39

On MN cling film is the new toilet brush.

Iamnotminterested · 24/09/2020 20:54

Oh no, the wrap of the devil.

MIL loves the stuff, claims it covers "so completely".

FranklyADick · 24/09/2020 20:55

I use cling film so rarely I'm still working through a giant Costco roll I bought years ago. Having had to start giving the kids packed lunches due to Covid tho I have found a sandwich wrap game changer. I bought from Costco a box of ready cut foil squares. Perfect size for sandwiches and very easy to use. Just grab and wrap.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 24/09/2020 21:00

Keep it in the freezer. It behaves itself then...

Pan2 · 24/09/2020 21:09

Surely there's a youtube video that will help with this very basic issue?

Bananaman123 · 24/09/2020 21:19

You want some baco film with plastic box, no teeth to slice and dice you

formerbabe · 24/09/2020 21:25

I never use it. If I need to wrap food, I use foil
