Do NHS doctors have access to GP medical records?

I have a mental health issue for which I’m considering getting referred through my GP. A few close friends are NHS doctors. A couple, who are both hospital doctors and one GP (in a different area). Can they see me records if they want to?

Like all health care workers, I access medical records for my patients so that I can assess and treat them effectively. I have no interest in the medical history of anyone else! Please be assured that the people you know won't be remotely interested in your health records. (And obviously won't be throwing away several years old study by risking accessing something they shouldnt)

Yes they do.
