To open the second layer in the chocolate box before the first is finished

The first layer has been denuded of all the good ones. Only the nasty ones remain.

Beneath the crackling black paper lies a whole fresh layer including all the nice ones.

But something in me tells me that it’s wrong to open the second layer when the first isn’t empty (even if some of the nasty ones would fit neatly into the slots of their more delicious cousins and disguise the crime).

This Aldi deliciousness contains palm oil, sadly, assuming "palm fat" is the same thing.

Palm fat, palm oil, vegetable oils, and many other names for it, there are lists online that tell you the others.

Start on the other layer, eat all the good ones and blame the dog.
It's the only way.

ZaZathecat · 23/09/2020 20:28

Will nobody think of the children???

Boobissue · 23/09/2020 20:30

So wrong, so very wrong!

HeronLanyon · 23/09/2020 20:33

If you know the ones you will scoff from the bottom layer are not Dh’s favourites then go right head.
Even better if you know the awful ones left on top layer are ones he’ll happily eat.
Problem is if Yi have similar tastes. In that case - given what we have all been through over the last few years - I’d just Say ‘I’m gonna go into the second layer do you want to join me’ or similar. If it’s a problem buy another box pronto.
Good luck op and op’s dh.

missmouse101 · 23/09/2020 20:34

Do what you like. Chocolate is meant to be enjoyable.

billybagpuss · 23/09/2020 20:37

DH always deliberately leaves the coconut and coffee ones til last as I don’t like them so I have to go for level 2 when he’s not looking

Brockwell · 23/09/2020 20:38

I loathe coffee ones so you have my permission to leave the chocolates you don't like. (Dh eats my coffee ones)

billy1966 · 23/09/2020 20:42

Straight on to the second layer without a thought!

CCC1 · 23/09/2020 20:44

Who are you sick bastards who insist all the fucking vomit inducing soft centres need to be eaten before you go below deck? Get in the bin.

Havaiana · 23/09/2020 21:05

What happens here is the best ones get eaten first in top tray, then best ones on bottom tray, gradually being whittled down to the worse ones like orange creme, caramel and those horrible ones that have flowers on them. Who the hell likes chocolate with flowers on them. Biscuit

Havaiana · 23/09/2020 21:06

Envy not Biscuit

MrsVeryTired · 23/09/2020 21:10

Definitely fine, do this all the time. I wouldn't do it if it was someone else's box but if it's mine or for sharing, of course. We all like different ones best in our house tho, I like nutty ones, DP and DS would leave those.

crumpet · 23/09/2020 21:15

Definitely considered sneaky behaviour

ShouldWeChangeTheBulb · 23/09/2020 21:16

Thing is where does it end. A complete breakdown of society that’s where. YABU.

ToastyCrumpet · 23/09/2020 22:47

I’ll eat the fruit crepes if you don’t want them, I love them.

ToastyCrumpet · 23/09/2020 22:48

Cremes. Bloody autocarrot.

goose1964 · 23/09/2020 22:50

That's there to stop you eating them all in one go. The only nasty ones are strawberry creams anyway.

Deadringer · 23/09/2020 22:54

Standard practice here.

Covert20 · 23/09/2020 23:00

DH likes the nuts, I like the creams, we are a match made in choc box heaven! Halo

Ameliablue · 23/09/2020 23:03

If it is your box ( or you and dh) then you do with it what you want. It would only be wrong if someone else offered you a chocolate from their box.

GenevaL · 23/09/2020 23:06

Not remotely unreasonable. It’s one box of chocolates. The layers are not enforceable iron bars. You can eat which chocolates you want from any layers you want. Find me the rule / law that says you can’t

FunorFitness · 23/09/2020 23:13

Shouldn't you have a layer each. Then you both get the same and you can swap any you don't fancy with his agreement?

I am guessing this in theory because I don't share chocolate!

Shannith · 23/09/2020 23:14

This is why I'm the only my adult in the house.

My biscuits, my rules. I eat them in any order and any later I please.
