To ask if you would visit a spa for treatments right now??

My lovely boss at work kindly bought me a pretty pricey voucher to use at a London spa end of last year.
I had booked in for a day of treatments in March, then lockdown happened so it was cancelled/spa kindly said they'd extend voucher to last till end of 2020.
The spa has now reopened. They say they take limited customers in at any time, clean each room before and after treatments and therapist swear masks etc.
Would you book in for say a facial/massage right now?

Getting to London isn't an issue, I live in suburbs. Its just if visiting a spa / having a treatment which relies on such 1-1 direct contact all over your skin etc is too risky right now?

Yes, I would.

No, but God I want to.

I agree, it’s a risk assessment. I’m not high risk, not living with or seeing anyone high risk, WFH and our schools are closed ( in the US, my children are still doing online learning).

I went about a month ago and it was fine. I’m watching the numbers and might possibly go again if they remain low in our area.

I would, and have. Spas are probably one of the most safest of places to be as they have very strict guidelines, and always had to be clinically clean even before Covid. I feel safer in a spa than I do walking round my local Tesco’s, with people picking stuff up, putting them back, and trolley cleaning no longer done.

Not a spa but my local salon that does all treatments - hair, make up, massage, nails, facials etc etc is VERY safely run and I feel extremely comfortable going there. I should hope similar establishments are all the same.

I would. I’m actually going for a pregnancy massage this weekend. I think if you trust the establishment it will be pretty safe, but only do what you feel comfortable with.

I used to go for a massage monthly- haven't been since march.

RozHuntleysStump · 23/09/2020 16:52

I’m in the salon all the time. Mental health is important too. Got nails, pedicure and 90min facial booked this week. Bloody bliss.

@mollyminniemo to be honest that doesn't sound like a great idea, spa, champagne, relaxation, indulgence. I don't think you should do it!

Instead PM me all the details and I'll do that for you!
