In Cornwall? Supposed to be going beg of Oct.

Really don't know if we should try and move the booking?

I'm nervous about going.

What element of it are you nervous about?

southparkroses · 22/09/2020 14:01

Eating out, and the risks that come with that.
I have to swabbed for covid when we get back before I have some treatment.

Will there be more than 6 of you? If so, definitely cancel. Or are you in a local lockdown area, or an area that is likely to go into local lockdown? Are any of you vulnerable? Lots of variables to consider!

southparkroses · 22/09/2020 14:17

Five of us. We're from London, they're from Yorkshire. We have a 2.5 year old.

Will be eating out for most meals.

I need to make sure I don't get it in case my treatment is cancelled.

Have you been advised to self isolate for a period before your treatment?

Some of Yorkshire is already under local lockdown with more rumoured to follow, along with London, so the decision may be taken out of your hands anyway.

I really wish the decision would be made for me! I don't want to disappoint anyone.

Pretty sure it's stupid of me to not try and isolate as much as I can before treatment.

Perhaps it's worth asking the GP/hospital if there's any specific guidance. To be honest it sounds as if you're be glad of a reason not to go, which is understandable. If you cancelled now would you get any of your money back? Good luck whatever you decide.

cuppycakey · 22/09/2020 14:31

Did you already post about this and everyone said you shouldn't go (owing to the nature of your treatment which I will not repeat here)

Apologies if you are a different poster, but if it's the same situation then I doubt many of us would be going.

I’m in Yorkshire. In the last month I’ve had to social distance for 7 days prior to outpatient treatment and for 14 days prior to surgery. Then shield after the Covid test which is no more than 72hours before the admission. I’ve been working from home, avoiding people especially the school gates and only going for solo walks and runs. I’m certainly not going into cafes/restaurants and trying to get shopping delivered where possible. I wouldn’t be going anywhere with another household in the 2-3weeks leading up to surgery/treatment. But I know how hard it is to disappoint people. And the decision may be taken out if your hands in the next week or two anyway.

I'm hoping we can just shift the booking to a later date!

I would love to go, but I've suddenly got really cold feet

No wasn't me, wonder if many people are suddenly in the same position!

This is interesting. Thank you
