Posting here for traffic.

Exactly that. At the grand age of nearly 30 I'm asking what a fever feels like 😬

Didn't own a thermometer until too long ago so I've never really used.

I've had episodes of feeling hot and cold with a virus such as a bad cold or a bad throat. Like where one minute you are hot then the next you are cold. Is that a fever? Don't think I've ever had flu.

I don't feel poorly right now other than a very slight sore throat which I must have caught off my partner. He's had a sore throat this week that went after a couple days. I also have two dc. It's pretty obvious when they have a fever.

I get that you feel hot but how hot should you feel? For September is very mild and muggy where I live and I've been hot all day but even with resting I still feel warm. Mainly around my face and neck. I also feel clammy. I was boiling hot sweating all night and kept waking up.

But I've checked my temperature and it's normal! Well I say normal. This morning I was around 36.6. This evening around 37. How rapidly does a fever come on?!

Am I just feeling the affects of this Indian summer we are experiencing?

Personally for me a fever has been either/or feeling Boiling hot and sweating, trying to cool down, dizzy and shivering....... Or To the touch feeling boiling, but quaking with coldness, shivering wrapping up and sweating. Both extremes. When ever I have had a fever theres no question, my whole body vibrates with the shivering (until maybe..taking 2 paracetamol and 2 ibroprofen and waiting half hour). Ive been hit with it so often for as long as I can remember from tonilitus and similar mainly.

Had tonsillitis a couple of times and the bed was wet with sweat. Really hot, no covers on, then freezing cold. Not fun

I had a fever of 42.6 in March before lockdown or covid testing was available. I'd been sleeping most of the day with crazy dreams, then I woke up and felt so so ill. I couldn't shout downstairs so banged a glass on my table for ages til he heard. I was shivering so badly, teeth chattering, and I was wearing a pjama top with a pattern on and wherever I looked I could see this pattern floating in mid air Confused My husband rang the doctor and they said take some cocodamol and ring back in an hour. My temp went down to 40 and gradually went down over the next few days
