Really random, but if your body weight were suddenly halved, would you still be alive?!

I don't know what made me think of this. Probably the depressing realisation that if I weighed half as much, I'd be a skinny Minnie, but very much still alive and kicking!
So I really need to lose weight.
You?

MrsWooster · 21/09/2020 18:21

I’d be a skinnymalinks but alive so I could come on mn and tell everyone that only a bmi in the teens is actually healthy

roarfeckingroarr · 21/09/2020 18:22

I'm 37 weeks pregnant and have put on nearly 2 stone to be 10.11, so I would just be alive but very very unwell and baby wouldn't be

WiggleSquiggle · 21/09/2020 18:23

I’d be very unhealthily underweight, but I imagine I’d still be alive, albeit not doing very much kicking.

86jabberwocky · 21/09/2020 18:25

I would be like Bella from the film Twilight when she was pregnant -minus the pregnancy though.

Itsokthanks · 21/09/2020 18:26

I'd be 5 stone so not very well! I do need to loose a couple of stones though.

itssquidstella · 21/09/2020 18:26

Probably not, I'd be 5 stone 3 at 5'11" 😂

Spodge · 21/09/2020 18:27

My BMI would be 12. I might just be alive, but I'd be 3 1/2 stone underweight.

Littlemissdaredevil · 21/09/2020 18:27

At the moment because I’ve recently had a baby I would be 6.5 stone so about a stone under a normal BMI. If I was my pre-baby weight I would be dead or in hospital

Drogonssmile · 21/09/2020 18:27

Probably not, I'd be 5 stone. So either dead or very very ill.

BikeTyson · 21/09/2020 18:28

Depressingly, yes, very much alive. Perhaps bordering on unhealthy Blush

MikeUniformMike · 21/09/2020 18:28

I would either be dead or on life support.

MirandaWest · 21/09/2020 18:29

I would not be well at all. Very skeletal.

As I am currently overweight, although gradually getting less so this is all right to hear.

Hardbackwriter · 21/09/2020 18:30

Apparently my BMI would be 13, so I don't think I'd be very well at all, and I certainly don't think I'd be 20 weeks pregnant as I currently am

oakleaffy · 21/09/2020 18:30

What brought body mass into perspective is having an arthritic knee....the GP said even losing half a stone can make a difference to arthritis pain, because of how body mass ''increases'' as we walk... All our weight is travelling onto that knee joint.
Want to hold off knee surgery for as long as possible. Ideally would like to be a stone lighter. {172cms tall}

pinkbalconyrailing · 21/09/2020 18:30

yes, but very underweight.

ChelseaDaggers · 21/09/2020 18:32

Yes, I think I'd be skinny and unwell, but yes, I'd be alive. I'm tall though, so my weight is never going to be that of a small child's, while I'm healthy anyway.

Connieston · 21/09/2020 18:32

I'd be 5st 2lb so probably just about alive at 5 foot 7 but lets just say I wouldn't be particularly sprightly.

Kisforkaylied · 21/09/2020 18:33

Very unlikely! BMI would be 10!!

fibeee · 21/09/2020 18:34

Yes but I’d probably be at death’s door

oakleaffy · 21/09/2020 18:35

NHS calculator advises I need to lose 5% of weight. Probably ate way too much in Lockdown. No ''probably'' about it.

I ate too much in lockdown.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 21/09/2020 18:35

Maybe, I'd be 5 stone at 5'7, so severely underweight. Confused

Ravenesque · 21/09/2020 18:35

I'd either be dead or dying and very skeletal. I'd just over 4 stone.

loveMyWeeDog · 21/09/2020 18:37

I’d be 4 stone at 5’10 so probably dead

ChristmasArmadillo · 21/09/2020 18:37

I would weigh just a smidge more than my 4yo which I assume would mean death.

nevergoingoutagain · 21/09/2020 18:37

I'd be be underweight by about 3stone
