But what does asking on MN achieve? People can post any old rubbish and the OP would be none the wiser.
And how is the situation more palatable because it's posted by a friendly Mumsnetter instead of taken from gov.uk or a quality news source?
To answer the OPs questions:
How bad have cases got? Bad, as bad as early March according to the graph.
How bad have deaths got? Not bad, yet. Yet being the operative word.
Will there be food/delivery shortages again? Who knows, probably, but likely due to panic buyers rather than actual shortages. I'd advise anyone at any time to not run their grocery shopping on a just in time model, if you can afford to and have a little extra space even if it's somewhere unconventional, like under the bed.
Because any hiccup in the supply chain will cause you to miss out or have to source things when you need them, in spite of the cost and/or inconvenience. So always try to keep a small amount of spares of essentials, in case there are problems.
Will schools be closing? WHo knows. I think there's a lot of argument wrt the science vs economy factor going on. Yes, return to lockdown will be bad, but if the cases and deaths get out of control again, that will be too.
