To think house viewings are a really bad idea at the moment?

Having an amount of strangers coming in to your home, touching door handles etc is probably not a great idea at the moment is it?

I did half a dozen viewing. The estate agent opened all the doors, we both wore masks, and I didn’t touch anything. It was fine. The most likely place to catch Covid is indoors with a crowd of other people talking or singing.

I personally wouldn't.

I wasn't best pleased when the neighbour wanted to come over and trim his hedge from our side in the backyard.

Of course I let him but this was back in March and I think he knew I wasn't happy with this 6 monthly arrangement as they're due a trim again and nothing has been said 🤐

I'm selling a relatives house. We'd hoped to put it on the market in April but had to wait because of lockdown. No one lives in it, the estate agent can come and go at any time they please. I imagining the risks for that scenario are tiny.

I personally wouldn't.

What would you do if your job relocated you or if you lost your job and had to move house in order to get a new job to feed your children? Just leave your old house and buy a new one?

YABVU. We can't all pause life forever because of bloody coronavirus.

Dotinthecity · 20/09/2020 18:58

I can't see the problem.

I did say I personally wouldn't.

I wouldn't want strangers in my house.

The scenarios you listed wouldn't affect me so my personal opinion remains that I wouldn't do it.

The OP doesn't say any of those scenarios relate to them so I assumed they are just wanting to sell/buy else where or were curious about others opinions.

Of course if they said they needed to sell to put food on the table then my answer would be do whatever you need to do for your family OP.
