Curious if Covid has changed your mind if you previous did/did not consent for your child to have the vaccine.

YABU - No my child won't have the flu vaccine
YANBU - Yes my child will have the flu vaccine

Of course and I need to book my ds in for his at the drs as well. I don't see why you wouldnt tbh. Any amount of protection is better than none.

Nacreous · 20/09/2020 10:35

I guess the trouble is you can't tell if people have changed their minds? I'm a big vaccine fan so Covid hasn't made it more likely for me, but I am still a YANBU voter on your poll.

Janleverton · 20/09/2020 10:35

But they’ve always had every vaccination going in school/surgery, so not changing behaviour this year other than that I’ve also booked for my older teens to have a private flu jab (they’re outside of the school scheme). I have one every year myself.

My dd had hers at school last Monday

MajesticWhine · 20/09/2020 10:36

YANBU. I have signed the consent form for DD.

MarshaBradyo · 20/09/2020 10:37

Mine have been booked in

Do people have reasons why they wouldn’t?

LittleBearPad · 20/09/2020 10:38

Yes of course they will. It’s shitty not to have vaccines if you don’t have medical reasons not to

timeforawine · 20/09/2020 10:40

Yep and I'll be off to the doctors for mine. My husband is going to pay to have it as he's not eligible on the NHS, wouldn't normally but this year wants to be that bit safer

SlipperyLizard · 20/09/2020 10:41

We haven’t had the consent forms yet, but mine will have it when we do.

My understanding is that we vaccinate children because they are spreaders, not because they might suffer themselves.

Useruseruserusee · 20/09/2020 10:41

Yes and my toddler DS had his at the GP surgery on Friday.

CountFosco · 20/09/2020 10:53

They always are vaccinated against everything we are offered on the NHS. Not sure why Covid-19 would make anyone who normally has their children vaccinated (and let's not forget, despite the vocal anti-vaxxer, the majority of eligible children are vaccinated) not vaccinate their child against flu this year.

Next Friday.. Most kids in my daughters class are except for the anti vax kids and the immunosuppresed girl.m
