To think most Christmas events are going to be curtailed / cancelled due to coronavirus

Just that really

Even if people aren’t making Christmas plans themselves now, restaurants, hotels etc need to be planning and it seems very unlikely big gatherings etc are going to be allowed in the foreseeable

Are we all going to be stuck at home with no events to go to?

I think most things won't run.

Currently choosing my 2 least favourite kids to sit in the garden so I can have my 2 elderly grandma's round Grin

@rainylake we are in same situation with MIL. We will be mixing households for what will be her final Christmas day and anyone who says we're wrong to do so can go and stick a tree decoration where the sun don't shine... Hope whatever you do you can make some special memories with DF.

We always have a big Christmas party for friends and their kids.
We also have an adults only afternoon/evening in a nearby city and a special Christmas outing for the kids.
Carol service and school Christmas fair.
At least one other family for Christmas Day and more for New Year.
None of it seems excessive usually-busy and expensive maybe but we love every aspect and I’ll be really sad that none of these things will be possible this year.

There are other things we do just us like choosing the Christmas tree, decorating, waking round the neighbourhood lights, crafts, baking and stories but it’s going to seem very flat.

Yup cancelled, but other than being worried we won’t get to see our parents and sibs it seems an excuse to stay local and have a low key Christmas.

I will miss our ‘all round to ours’ Boxing Day drinks though.

I never considered myself particularly Christmassy, but this thread is depressing as hell.

And MUCH nicer than north pole breakfasts or standing in a queue to see a grumpy bloke dressed in a red coat.

😂😂😂
