Basically MLMs but they claim to be employers ‘recruiting now’ or ‘for Christmas’ and always a load of gullible ‘interested!’ Comments underneath!

AIBU to wish they could be banned?

@KitchenConfidential I always report to the group admin. If it's a group that is happy to have these posts I'd have to weigh up how much I want to be in that particular group.

It's bloody Tropic that's taking over my page. It feels like it's everywhere and every bugger wants me to buy it. I feel like shouting "if I didn't want to buy it from them, why would I want to buy it from you"??

Sick of the "I'm a business woman" crap too. No you're not. Your flogging things for someone who is actually a business woman.

Ginfordinner · 19/09/2020 22:49

None of my friends are inti MLM selling, thank goodness. Maybe that's why I don't get the adverts.

Gingernaut · 20/09/2020 11:11

They're everywhere. They're on job sites aswell masquerading as real jobs with well written adverts.

I (used to) work in social media and applied for a role I saw on one of the job sites. I received an email about it the next day and it was for bloody Oriflame. I don't think she liked my response email very much.

I know MLMs like to prey on the vulnerable but it seems even more crappy when everyone's out of work

Even here, on Mumsnet.

I reported Avon spammers a few weeks ago.

They are scum. Absolute scum.

Duping desperate people (usually women) into paying £££ to 'join' and manipulating them into snaring others.

They need to be declared illegal. It's a disgrace.

Our FB community group - which allows local businesses to post - has actually banned MLMs, Sadly they don’t seem to realise Tropic is one.

I've been approached on LinkedIn twice recently by travel ones and a lot of my colleagues and friends have too. I work in travel as an account manager at the supplier end of the industry, losds of experience and a well paid mid level position. A cursory glance at my LinkedIn bio would tell the person that I have been a self employed agent (with a reputable backer) and have loads of experience across the industry so why would I want to join inteletravel? A friend of mine was approached by one too asking if she'd be interested in starting her own travel business from home - she's the national sales manager of a high end well known tour operator Grin

Our local children's FB group has an awful lot of Usborne reps on it just now and I do find it annoying.

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 20/09/2020 11:24

I just had an acquaintance tell me that she was doing such a great thing helping other save money in an environmentally friendly way and this was making her feel so good about herself during lockdown. I asked for details horse it was an MLM. Definitely not, she said. Great. She went me the link.....you guessed it, Utility Warehouse.

For anyone interested, there is a petition to get MLMs banned in the UK. You can sign here
