Fucking NITS!

AIBU to think that there is no reason why nits should still be doing the rounds?!

We managed to be completely nit free for what felt like the first time in years during lockdown. Not back at school a month and already they are back in the house.

I cannot fathom anyone who allow a child to go untreated for that long, it is neglect surely?

We’ve never had them on our 3 children thank god. We did get regular texts to say they were doing the rounds though, and at those points I was extra vigilant in checking hair and spraying tea tree on it.
I have always insisted that DD keeps her hair tied back and at the times when school sent us messages that someone was infected, I made sure her hat was plaited or up in a bun. Her friend who always had hair down did catch them, maybe we’ve just been lucky but I think hair up plays a part.

It’s never going to go away if you don’t nit comb properly. When my DD had nits, I’d used hedrin on the whole family, but also used the nitty gritty comb everyday straight after school, she has long very very thick hair and it took about an hour. I would keep going over and over until I could find no more. If I found another one, I’d do the whole head again. The nitty gritty comb is brilliant, got some tiny little buggers out, but you have to be diligent and put the time in. And wash (Or burn) the bedding.

I did buy an electric nit comb which was also handy. (I did want to take it to school and nit comb at the school gate).
I’ve no more children at primary school now, I’ve got my fingers crossed that my that’s it for nits! 🤞🤞

My children have each had them once and we threw literally everything at them. Hedrin, nitty gritty, conditioner etc etc. You have to go at it like it's war.
