To wear a dressing gown in bed?

I'm really tired atm and all I want is to just put on my big warm dressing gown and be lazy in my bed.
It's a really cosy dressing gown but I feel like John Lennon
WIBU?

And is it the norm to wear them this way? To sleep?

I wouldn’t wear one to sleep in all night, but they’re the best for lounging around in.

I've only ever worn one after baths really. I want to see how it feels now. Strums guitar Bed peace!

I wouldn't be comfortable in bed in one and prefer an extra throw on the bed if cold.

I tried it once (I get cold; DH doesn't), but I woke up uncomfortable from lying on the loops. The belt is a definite no in bed.

I've worn mine in bed in the depth of winter because it's bloody freezing in this house sometimes. And when I've been hungover, I need all the comfort I can get then!

Go for it. I wear my dressing gown to bed when I have a cold or COVID and also when I come back from a sunny holiday to cold UK.

The problem is its so big and fluffy so I wake up sweating in the middle of the night!

I've worn my big fluffy one when sleeping when I've been ill. Perfect night of sleep, but I don't think I moved much at all.

Wear it while you chill then take it off to sleep or you'll boil

It's cozy if your lounging in bed...I do it in winter if I have been up early with the dog and want a lie in, but sleeping properly not really comfortable.

However tempting it has never worked out for me.

Always end up later feeling like I am having a wrestling match.
It ruches up, the belt starts attacking me like a python, the whole garment ends up wrapping me like a spiders trap, rendering me unable to move. Also leads to me being too hot at 3am.

Always best to switch into easy cotton pjs, light but warm bedding.

I would have to be pretty drunk or ill to think sleeping in a dressing gown is a good idea.

Go for it. I've worn mine to bed quite a few times. I sleep like a log when I wear it or my thick fleecy pjs.

If I wear light nighty or nothing I don't sleep as well.

I sleep in mine every night in the winter! It’s not a thick one though or you’ll be too hot and make sure the belt is small and not tied too tight!

Oh god! The only time I wore a dressing gown in bed, it was Christmas and I was 7. Granny gave me a new dressing gown that i refused to take off. I watched a ballet of the Nutcracker on telly before bed. Then, asleep in my dressing gown I was ridiculously hot and sweaty and had the worst nightmare ever about giant rats coming out of the fireplace and running all over me. It was horrific, and I still feel funny about rats, dressing gowns and The Nutcracker.

I can't sleep in anything. So it would annoy me. But do what you want. There's no dressing gown police. I would positively support getting cozy and getting into bed right now.

I was given an oodie for my birthday. I bloody love it!! Better than a dressing gown!

Wouldn’t go to bed in it though, would nap on the sofa

I used to wear mine in bed when I had been out drinking & had the shivers by the time I got home. I don't even have a dressing gown now, I wear a hoodie over my pjs, a lot safer for cooking on pj days.

I used to do it loads, but I am a very cold person.

I married a human hot water bottle and haven't had to since then, but I had many a cozy night curled up. Only problem is the odd time you might unexpectedly overheat, I'd leave a glass of water by the bed in case that happens.

I've worn mine to bed before when it's been very chilly. It's nice and cosy on a cold winter night.

It's still pretty mild where I am though. I think it would get too hot quite quickly.

It reminds me of when I’m poorly, I always wear one in bed when I’m sick. I think it’s fine to do, I bought myself one of those short house coats it’s amazing I often slip it on in bed, lovely and cozy but not bulky under the sheets.
