To isolate or not to isolate

Colleague of DHs has tested positive. Sits above 2m away from him in the office. As per guidelines, DH hasn't been within 2m of him for more than 15 minutes or within 1m for 1 minute so not classed as a close contact yet colleague advises he has given DHs details to track and trace.

All staff told to work from home and isolate expecting a call from track and trace. 3 days later, no call or text.

As he hasn't met the criteria for isolation, WWYD? Continue to isolate? Keen not to isolate if not required due to childcare issues but of course will if required.

How long does it usually take for track and trace to make contact?

I suppose my AIBU is would DH BU to not isolate?

I’d say no. Unless he gets symptoms of course.

Yes of course, would isolate immediately if he got any symptoms.

Are they working indoors and if yes, what kind of air conditioning is there (those exchanging the old air with fresh air or those just turning the same air around) or are just windows and doors open? I read articles about the aerosoles being distributed in offices by the movement people make, so that proximity is not that protective.

If the work is outside, then I would not worry so much.

Indoors, no air conditioning just windows and doors.

From what I heard on LBC this morning, he might as well go back to work as wait for T&T to ring. One person was out because he'd already done his 2 weeks before they got round to phoning him up.

Otoh, I've heard of 2 people who got fined for not quarantining. Both isolating at home, as directed, but one had gone out for a run and the other had taken dog for a walk.
