Covid tests and fuel in car.

Thankfully we don't need a test so not about us.. not yet anyway.

Anyway, as people are being sent miles and miles for tests what if you haven't got any fuel in the car? Are you allowed to stop in a petrol station?

I tend to keep my car filled up but many people don't and often covid would take someone by surprised and they may not be organised to travel.

My closest testing site is 35 miles ++ away!! So this could well be a thing.

Not really an aibu but it's a random thought that popped into my head this evening!

I guess if you get sent further than you have petrol then you would have to try again for a home test saying you don't have a car.

If you paid at the pump, sanitised your hands really well before touching anything & wore a mask I'd imagine it would be OK.

I was thinking the same thing earlier. I decided that if i was in that situation unless I had something big (think holiday/birthday party etc not just going out for dinner with dh/seeing family) in the following two weeks which I wanted to go to, and therefore want a test to know if I could go or not, I probably wouldn't bother driving miles for a test and just self-isolate for require required time. We're both wfh still anyway.

I assume you would be allowed to put fuel in the tank given that when you do home tests you have to post the results back into specified post boxes

Pay at the pump and spray hand san around
