Yes, I'm aware there is a pandemic, backlog of patients, longer between patients to clean etc. I didnt expect to wait a month with a broken, painful tooth that is cutting into my tongue though! (Yes, I have regular check-ups, but my one in Mar was cancelled). How backlogged is your dentist currently?

God I appear to be so lucky! I am NHS and although my checkup was postponed a few times since March I had a tooth out yesterday and have 3 more appointments between now and Nov. It did freak me out why I needed a 2 hour appt for a filling @Yugi that would explain it!

Sorry you're having to deal with this, I've had 2 teeth go over the last 6 month, I had one ripped out and then the other a filling done after I had the same issue, the tongue cutting is worse than people think.
I was lucky though that I was able to get both appointments within a few days. Have you told them you're in pain?

I couldn't get toothy pegs, but I used dentek and dentex sruff, if you have a 'Savers' they're cheap from there, one worked a bit and one didn't but can't remember which one sorry.

@BlueJava I know. Because the dentist I see left during lockdown, I had to have a check up before they would finish it. So 6 weeks wait. Then at the checkup I was told that she wouldn't be doing the procedure because she was also leaving. So I have to wait 2 more months for a consultation with the dentist who WILL be doing it. Then another couple of months wait to actually get it done then I have to wait for the crown to be made etc. Getting really fucked off with it all now.

I broke the entire front off a tooth in June. At the same time, a crown that was only a year old, loosened and nearly fell out. I’m a private patient at an NHS dentist, because they said they had no more funding for NHS patients. I phoned for an emergency appointment and was told the earliest would be November.
