Mark on breast - worry?

Boobissue · 15/09/2020 21:21

Ok, I know I need to see GP, but currently 5 days into 14 day isolation.

I've had this mark come up on my breast, it's like a large liver spot. It was small but had suddenly enlarged over the past few days.

How worried should I be?

Pic attached, which is not identifiable as a breast hopefully.

That's very blurry, sorry!

If I scratch it I can remove it, but it bleeds.

Could you ring the drs and ask to email them a picture and have a phone consultation? I had to do that with my child’s rash. No idea what it could be sorry, hopefully nothing serious.

Boobissue · 15/09/2020 21:27

That's a good idea @Tinkywinkydinkydoo , didn't realise that was an option.

Definitely call the GP for any noticeable change to your breasts. Mostly, there's nothing to worry about, but you should be fast tracked for scans etc at the Breast Clinic.

Suzi888 · 15/09/2020 21:29

You need to ring G.P and ask them for advice. Bleeding isn’t good.
Have you tested positive for covid or think you have it? (Sorry the rules are so confusing I give up!) maybe they’ll test you, then see you.
Hopefully someone with more info will be along soon.

I had one on my boob and had to send pics to Dr during lockdown. So weird sending pics of my boob via email! It turned out to be the ugly sounding but harmless seborrhoeic wart...

Boobissue · 15/09/2020 21:32

@Suzi888 I've been in contact with a CV positive person.

I'll ring tomorrow and ask the options.

I'm sure it's nothing, but tonight got me really worried.

This is a good guide to changes to be aware of.

Oh thank you @TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross I'm going to do that (hopefully) tomorrow.

Were your photos better than mine? Although I suppose with the GP I don't need to worry about it looking like an actual breast.

My doctor did a video call to see my baby so you could ask for that otherwise I would ask for appointment with nurse as you have noticed a change in breast they should defo see you for that.

I had smear recently and asked her to check my breasts at the same time as had some puckering type skin around nipples but was both sides and have had 2 baby's close together recently and she confirmed it's wear I've lost breast tissue but said always always get checked as soon as you notice just to be sure. X

Boobissue · 15/09/2020 21:34

Thank you @BitOfFun I don't think it matches any of those, so hopefully a harmless liver spot or something.

PopcornPugs · 15/09/2020 21:37

It could be a fungal skin thing. I’ve had something similar before

LateMumma · 15/09/2020 21:47

Do you have anymore of them elsewhere on your body? I get these on 'fatty' areas - breasts, belly, bum and I can scratch them off and they bleed. They're a form of eczema for me.

Boobissue · 15/09/2020 21:49

Yes @LateMumma I have one on my bum, I had one on my shoulder but one day I scratched it and it just came off!

OP posts:
Mollyboom · 15/09/2020 21:55

I had something similar and it was a seborrheic keratosis. It literally just appeared. They are totally benign but will bleed if you scratch them off. I
now have loads especially after pregnancy. Obviously still get it checked out but hopefully this is reassuring. The doctor told me as a rule of thumb if it looks as if it has been stuck on and is rough more likely to be a seborrheic keratosis than anything else.

Boobissue · 15/09/2020 21:58

That's spot on @Mollyboom but I will check it out. Thank you

Suzi888 · 15/09/2020 21:59

Good luck op, fingers crossed all be ok for you - on both counts!

BitOfFun · 15/09/2020 22:09

Ah, if it's elsewhere on the body it is EXTREMELY unlikely to be breast cancer. That's a relief, but you do need to get it checked out Flowers

jakeyboy1 · 15/09/2020 22:15

I've got a similar situation. Had consultation by phone, sent photo, called in. Had to wait two weeks see if it went now referred to rapid access but rapid access is going slow!
