To be irked by the dept of health referring to 'NHS' Track and Trace...

When in fact this bloody shambles is nothing to do with the NHS! Track and Trace is run by private companies who have no prior experience in this field and have been given billions in tax payers money to implement it.
There aren't enough tests, people are being told they need to travel 100s of miles for tests or face 14 days off work/school. The results are coming into local authorities in dribs and drabs and are often inaccurate.

Someone is making a lot of money out of this and the NHS is getting smeared with the shit from it without being involved Angry

Interesting theory. Alternatively they are just using the NHS brand in the hope people will trust it more and engage with it better.

I’m not sure why they didn’t use existing labs/infrastructure rather than start from scratch. Seems an odd plan, BUT looking at it from the outside the only rationale (beyond my mate will do it) I can see is they thought the nhs was going to be flooded treating cases and wanted some separation if there was chaos.

I suppose the fact that since 2010 our regional lab infrastructure has been cut to virtually nothing hasn't helped. But a family member works in the field and says the money that is poured into these private companies, with no apparent consequence for ballsing it up is eye-watering.

Families are faced with either breaking the rules and carrying on as normal or taking unpaid leave to cover 14 days absence.

Meanwhile the blame is being shat all over the doorstep of the NHS

Is it not an nhs project, albeit using contract specialist?

Thatnameistaken · 12/09/2020 10:26

No, my relative is dealing with Public Health England as was, who are trying and failing to liaise with the private companies who supply the tests and the privately run agencies who are running the actual testing. The whole process is a fiasco.
