Where is Jack’s fishfinger thread?

Has it been pulled? It was hilarious. She started a thread about her AMAZING fishfinger lasagna but it seems to have disappeared.
Is MNHQ scared of upsetting her?

I initially assumed that it was using lasagne in a sort of metaphorical sense, and that it was just some sort of layered fish finger dish, but no, there is indeed both pasta and fish fingers in there

Do you put the fishfingers in raw or cook them first?

They're cooked first in that recipe. I guess if you didn't you'd be even more likely to end up with the breading as just horrible mush.

I love fish fingers. And I love lasagne. But the thought of the two things together makes me want to either weep or throw up (or both).

I read the thread and assumed it was done by a school kid posting their video project

I like fish fingers. I like pasta. I love lasagna almost more than life itself.

The three combined sounds bloody awful.

I think I would eat fish fingers and lasagne, in a delicious buffet plate, but not in lasagne. That’s my line in the sand.

Was there cheese, too?

@MaskingForIt Jack is well known for jumping on the latest bandwagon for attention and attempting to be relevant. Recently seen on the Vegan/BLM/Poverty bandwagons.

Well she put some cheese and milk in a blender with some flour, before pouring it over, which made me WTF a bit. I’m no great cook but even I know you need to cook the flour out not just blitz it together with everything else.

I want to understand it all. Not the fishfinger lasagna, that’s clearly a pile of shit. But this weird relationship between MN and Jack Monroe. It seems to be another of those strange things whereby Jack is pulling strings and MNHQ are the puppets

I don't think there's any weird relationship going on between JM and MN. There have been threads about her before here which haven't been pulled. On the whole though if it gets nasty they will pull it which is fair enough.

Jack herself has posted here in the past...no idea if that thread earlier was by her but it will certainly have upped the views of that odd video. Maybe that was the aim.

JM does seem to have a lot friends in high places. And she likes to threaten legal action (she does it a lot on Twitter).

Dear Christ. I did laugh at their picture, though. What a job for a professional food photographer.

@Whiskyinajar nothing nasty in her thread at all. It was obvious straight away it was her, or at least posted under her direction but I don’t think there was anything unpleasant on a personal level. Plenty of comments about how vile the recipe sounded but fair enough- we’re not all obliged to like fishfinger slop

I think if it had been just the cheese sauce with leeks, spinach and butternut squash layered with lasagna sheets and served with nice crispy fish fingers on the side it would have been ok but adding them as an additional layer, soaked in the sauce so they went soggy, made it really odd and rather gross.
The weird filter on the video didn’t do anything to make it look more appetising.

No no no no fishfingers should not feature anywhere near that dish! Leeks, spinach and butternut squash fair enough but for the love of god fishfingers have no place on the same table
