Neighbours camera

Posting for traffic.

Neighbour has a new cctv type camera pointing directly at my house. Already has a different camera, not sure where it is, but he knows every tiny thing that happens. I can only believe it's because he's got a camera. (Knows how many times a day I leave the house etc, even when he's not in).

Legally, where do I stand with this? I hate the idea that I'm being watched.

Odd house, where may garden in out the front. I feel my privacy is being invaded.

Aibu? I hate it.

It’s one thing he can see your comings and goings - and I don’t think he’s legally allowed to do that anyway - but why is he telling you he knows? This sounds stalkerish to me. Does he just slip it into conversation?

This seems to be a popular topic at the moment! The ICO have a really useful online tool for issues with CCTV

Not my next door neighbours but our neighbour up the road likes to report on our neighbourhood watch thread about the comings and goings on our street she observes courtesy of her camera. I find it really creepy and invasive. It'd be great if she'd catch the number plates of the thieves who come around stealing catalytic converters. But nah. It's always things she's noticed about us neighbours as we've walked past her house. She then posts videos her camera captures of 'suspicious goings-on' on our road (less 'potential robbery' more 'blackbird eating rubbish in the middle of the street' or 'whose cat is this?' types of posts).

Any chance you can plant a nice, thick bamboo hedge between you and your neighbour, OP?
