she can come here and join DD. She does cartwheels though.

Annoying isn't it?

Twiglett · 07/10/2007 17:16

it's a boy

but thanks .. I'll package him up .. can you cat me your address?

(problem is when he does perfect straight ones that he holds for 4 seconds I can't help going 'oh that was a great one')

grrr and mine, although they keep trying to go over into a bridge

hamabeads · 07/10/2007 17:16

The gym class seemed a good idea at the time

Mercy · 07/10/2007 17:30

Was headstands with dd a while ago.

I used to freak out about her neck

WillyWooooaaaahnka · 07/10/2007 17:35

It's the repetition of the accompanying rhymes that get me:
Handstand, elastic band, who can stay up the looooongest (eeeked out for however long the handstand lasts)

Or the variation that 5yo dd appears to have been taught by some of the older girls at after school club:
Handstand, elastic band, who can show their butt for the looooongest ?!

Boco · 07/10/2007 17:36

Another cartwheeler here. Over and over and over and over and over again

'Mummy! watch, watch me! mummy? mummy? watch this? did you see that one? mummy? watch? watch? Mummy? watch this one? watch me mummy? mummy? watch this? Did you see that one? Mummy? Look! Look at me! Watch this? Watch me! Mummy? MUUUUMMMMYYYYYY!!!!

etc.

Me - fixed grin, cold dead eyes.

'wow, yes! gosh, good, yes. Uhuh! Another good one, yes. That was a good one. Yes, yes. Yes. Oh and that one. That was good, well done. That was also good. Gosh. Yep. Good. Yes. And that one. Yes. Well done. Well done! Wow.

WillyWooooaaaahnka · 07/10/2007 17:38

I'm feeling that emotion Boco

DANCESwithHughJackman · 07/10/2007 17:59

LOL Boco. In my house it's:

Mummy I've built a tower, look, look, mummy, have you seen it WAAAAAAAAAH dd knocked my tower over. Mummy I've built another tower, look, look, LOOK, it's a palace...WAAAAAAAAh dd/daddy/the cat/I knocked it over...repeat adinfinitum....

For my responses see Boco's post...

...

Do you think they'd notice if we made at tape and played it on loop?

pinkbubble · 07/10/2007 18:06

We constantly have the handstands too! But also accompanied with a rhyme-

I am the greatest (points to self)
Not for longest (shakes finger)
Under over pepsi cola (Pretends to twirl hair)
un deui trois (claps hands 3 times)

(then you do the hand stand)

Oh Crumbs must be bad, i can remember the rhyme!

DANCESwithHughJackman · 07/10/2007 18:06

Yes, what a good idea, really, that's great, fantastic, really?!

Is it working?

ScaryScaryNight · 07/10/2007 18:09

There must be something wrong with me. I want my 5 1/2 year old boy to do the handstand, just to scared he is going to crash down. So far he is doing some pretty good headstands up against the wall!

Diege · 07/10/2007 18:13

OMG I thought it was just my 6 year old who did this - always at a terrifying speed from one sofa over to the next, ending up in handstand with bottom half of legs visible from front room window Problem is dd3 (22 months) is now attempting to copy, with 6 year old acting as coach It is very wearing...esp when getting chided for looking at computer screen rather than 'this is the best ever' identical to the other 100 handstands of the day .
