Are you on LinkedIn? I'm a PA and I'm often pinged for things like that but I ignore as I've got a job I like. I think it is hard to make a living from virtual PA work but maybe that will change now with the experience of so many working from home over the last few months.

I'm a non-virtual PA, happy to go virtual, hire me! Lol

sorry I meant I want to become a virtual PA not that I'm seeking one!

My friend set herself up as one. She spent a while planning and networking. She has met other VAs and started off doing bits for them as well as making her own contacts. I am a PA and I personally wouldn’t do it as it is so hard

I’m hopeless with LinkedIn although I am looking for VPA work as I have the set up at home now after being Meade redundant from an executive PA role.

What type of info should I include to be visual for this type of work do you think?

LarkLaneLove · 24/11/2020 12:41

There is lots of useful info here
www.thevahandbook.com/
I did this for a while as had a lot of experience as an EA but it's VERY hard to get clients, regular work etc and I networked my socks off so after a couple of years gave up as was too stressful. I know 2 other virtual PAs who had the same experience. I'm a single mum so it was the lack of regular income that was the hardest for me, depends on your personal circumstances and how much income you need.
Do not sign up with any virtual exec services, they pay you peanuts, absolutely not worth it!

I think in order to be successful you need to be able to offer something a bit more specialised than just general admin. The people I know of who've made a success of it had qualifications/experience in marketing, copywriting, book keeping etc as well. It's really tough to break into because so many people are doing it.

You could offer your services on People per Hour and Upwork. The rates that customers want to pay on there seem really low though. I think you might find a permanent PA job which is work from home thanks to Covid. They'd probably look for similar experience and up to date skills.
