AIBU to bath my toddler twice a day

DS is 20 months and I currently bath him twice a day. Every night, without fail, his nappy leaks (and I have tried every brand of nappy Blush) and he is soaked in wee. I find it easier to just stick him in the bath for a couple of minutes whilst I'm brushing my teeth/having a wash. He has a bath with his sister before bed too (as he is usually wearing his dinner!) AIBU to bath him twice a day? I do moisturise him with Aveeno after each bath and his skin is lovely and soft.

Is the excess wee overnight a relatively new thing for your ds? If so it could be a sign of Type 1 diabetes. If it's been going on forever then he's just a heavy wetter.

Your child is clean and healthy. What’s the issue?

Please don't do anything else while your baby is in the bath

Brush my teeth whilst he is about 20cm away from me?

Have you tried Rascal & friends nappies? They're great for overnight, bit more expensive so we use own brand in the day. If his skin is ok then whatever works.

I think that is fine, we have always given daily baths as part of bedtime routine and it is fine with their eczema as long as we don’t use products. When they were little I also would sometimes bring them in the shower with me in the morning as it was just less stressful, never gave it too much thought.

I think bathe is an old fashioned way of speaking which my grandmother would use.

No it isn't.

Yes it is!

I bath mine twice a day (I live in a hot country) and the heat gets to him. I bath him in the afternoon as it settles him and then again before bedtime/right after a messy meal. The afternoon shower is literally a shower, I don't shampoo his hair but just shampoo his body and just let him sit under the shower to cool off. The evening bath, again I fill up the tub so he can play a bit and I shampoo his hair. He literally loves the water.

I was told off by docs for giving ds1 too many baths when he was small. Said I was ruining his largest organ! Was advised to top & tail or shower down with no soap. Bath every other day ideally.
But, if you need to, then do it. Is his skin dry if you don't moisturise?

Oh for Christ sake. OP wasn't going off for a holiday. She was brushing her teeth.

My ds starting leaking at night, a friend told me to go up a size, even though he didnt look like he needed to, I tried it..worked like a charm!

I'm just jumping in on the nappy front..... The only thing that stopped my daughters nappies leaking was 2 double up - she had a taped + nappy with a nappy pant over the top. She only wore nappy pants from 9 months due to making it her life's aim to take taped nappies off but once she got to 2.5 started leaking badly every night and that worked wonders

At 20 months old it's weird that the diaper leaks! You do need to check different diapers. Btw how is your child's poops? They sound too soft!

For meals, my kids wore those "straight jacket" style bibs (got them from IKEA) so only the face and hands get dirty, just need a quick wash on the sink.

Hi all. Update, I put a pull up over DS's regular nappy last night as other posters on here advised and no leaking! Grin He has always been a heavy wetter and I have literally tried every brand of nappy! Thanks for the advice :) x
