Sell house because of neighbour?

I had a previous thread but not sure how to link, sorry. Share a yard with a neighbour who has a big dog, neighbour freely let’s dog out alone and this is the dogs toilet area also, mainly up against my back door. Spoke to him, got nowhere, he has now turned nasty as I also reported to Landlord and local authority. Both have done nothing to help and now he knows I’ve reported it he is just plain nasty. My child was out in garden with me yesterday and we realised it’s the first time out in yard since March!! Because of the neighbour and lack of control over the dog. So I’m thinking of selling as I can’t see a way forward... rather than AIBU... am I giving in too easy?
Sorry if I’m repetitive from last post just running out of all options!

Whether his attitude is unreasonable depends on what you said and his contract. If it's a shared yard he has as much right to it as you, as long as he picks up after his dog then the fact that the dog is loose is not relevant (I'm assuming the dog isn't barking because you don't mention that). I suspect that these people rented the flat with permission to have a dog, you pay extra!

I've had the experience of new people moving in and complaining that I have a dog, luckily I could fence off but if that's not an option learning to coexist would have prevented this.

The dog barks like crazy as he believes we are in his yard probably. I don’t think he will bite but the barking and jumping from quite a large dog is quite scary and truthfully I don’t see why I should be checking if it’s safe to go out my back door. I was really reasonable as really don’t like confrontation but it feels like I’m now getting walked all over and living in my own house set by rules by neighbour and dog?

I dont think people do mention spats with neighbours, we had a problem over a boundary with previous neighbour, they eventually divorce and sell the house. New neighbour has not mentioned anything.
We did not involve solicitors or council though. Was just between us.
New neighbour does not do any of the annoying things the old one did.
Good luck i hope he moves.

Hope not but if I sell I will see what solicitor thinks if I should declare the problems. Huge pee right at my back door/kitchen window today and it was so strong Smelling as dog had been in most of today I think. I was going to go and clean it but just thought what the hell!! Was just so angry at the time.
