That some people are "losing their shit" at the moment over Covid?

I've just done my usual morning wake up routine of coffee and sweep through a couple of news outlets both national and local to me, plus a poke about the boards, and have been struck by a few things.

One of them is that apparently some people may be "lying" to get tests when asymptomatic, and this is a waste of valuable resources that should be ring fenced for the genuinely needy. So actually it seems there are plenty of tests available, but lab capacity is compromised, and also we have the debate about whether tests are accurate. If you tell people that they can be asymptomatic but still infectious isn't it utterly logical if they have to go out and about for work or whatever, having a test or two is sensible to prevent transmission? The impression is given that we could all be potential "Typhoid Marys" but attempts to verify that can be considered detrimental ? It does seem that the average Jo can't do right for doing wrong.

I'm in Bournemouth, where we have had the whole over-crowded beach shenanigans during the hot weather. Our cases didn't spike, but there did seem to be a few places in the UK after that which did spike where visitors might have come from en masse. It has been decided that two major attractions over the festive season here won't go ahead - the outdoor ice rink and our "Tree Wonderland". There will be a "reduced" Market in the town centre and a single storey Alpine Bar so virus policing can be maintained. It sounds utterly joyless. And again, we have that rather mixed message - come out and stimulate the local economy, but maintain social distancing and be on alert at all times.

The actual risks of the virus seem to be another mixed bag and I'm having difficulty keeping up. Some schools have apparently had clusters of cases in Scotland already, it's too soon to tell what's going on in England with that. The virus can attack the heart even if you have been asymptomatic. Some people have now definitely been shown to have contracted it twice - where does that leave herd immunity? And vaccines - nearly there, not nearly there, political bollocks from the US about it......

I'm trying to keep up, I wear the mask, I go about my business, hell, I'm hoping to open my small shop in the next week or so because hey, cashflow, but I'm dreading it a little bit while trying to remain positive and hopeful......

In the background we also have Brexit, which has been sidelined but things have surely been going on behind the scenes. Given that a no-deal scenario will likely involve changes to trade routes and customs practises affecting imports, I'd like to know a bit about that. Not so I can stockpile or panic, but just so I can put things in place and not be caught out.

I could really do with a Fact Sheet for the next say, month. Not a Speculation Sheet, and Opinion Sheet or a Propaganda Sheet. A proper idiots guide if you like. For those of us - likely the vast majority - trying to keep the middle ground, do "the right thing" for the general good, and trying to make plans for a hopefully better future?

I currently don't have the energy to "lose my shit" but I have sympathy for those who are to be honest. My problems are miniscule compared to some and I salute those for whom this whole debacle is piling more shit on shit they already have to deal with - I wish you could be better supported.

Anyway, back in the saddle, hope y'all have as good a day as possible.
